Captain Petrulis graduated from Howell High School in June 2013 and attended Michigan State University in which she graduated from in December of 2016. She was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 2021.

She began Officer Candidate School training in Quantico, Virginia in June of 2021. In November of 2021, she began training at The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia and graduated in June 2022 designated as a Logistics Officer. In September 2022, she reported to Logistics Officer Course, Camp Johnson, North Carolina and graduated in December of 2022.

In December 2022, Second Lieutenant Petrulis reported to G-4, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan and joined the Sustainment section. In February of 2023, she received orders to Truck Company, Headquarters Battalion, 3d Marine Division on Camp Hansen. During her tenure at Truck Company, she served as the Platoon Commander, Operations Officer and Executive Officer. She reported to S-3, Headquarters Battalion, 3d Marine Division, Camp Courtney in November 2024, where she served as the Battalion’s Assistant Operations Officer.

First Lieutenant Petrulis checked into Support Company, III MSB, III MIG, III MEF in August 2025, where she initially served as the Executive Officer before assuming duties as the Company Commander in October 2025. During this period, she had the opportunity to deploy to Kengun, Japan, in support of Resolute Dragon, and to Camp Mujuk, Korea, in support of Freedom Shield, serving as the Camp Commandant for both exercises.

Captain Petrulis completed the Expeditionary Warfare School Distance Education Program in May 2026. She also serves as the Battalion Voting Officer, Suicide Prevention Officer, and a certified UMAPIT trainer.

Captain Petrulis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in Political Science and an additional degree in Interdisciplinary Studies of Social Sciences.
