Biography

First Lieutenant Ellison is a native of Falls Church, Virginia. 1stLt Ellison graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research. She commissioned into the United States Marine Corps upon graduation in 2022. Following completion of The Basic School and Marine Artillery Officer Basic Course in 2023, she was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division where she served as a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System platoon commander in Fox Battery. Immediately after checking in, 1stLt Ellison led her platoon during Service Level Training Exercise (SLTE) 5-23 in Twentynine Palms, California. Upon returning to Camp Lejeune, 1stLt Ellison participated in Rolling Thunder 1-24 and a HIRAIN coordinated with MARSOC.

n April 2024, 1stLt Ellison deployed to Okinawa, Japan as a platoon commander where she participated in Orient Shield 24. Her platoon was the first Marine Corps unit to be involved in the Joint Bilateral live fire exercise with the Japan Ground Self Defense Force and the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force, USA. After the conclusion of Orient Shield, her platoon was the first HIMARS unit to participate in exercise Resolute Dragon in Hijyudai.

Following her deployment, 1stLt Ellison served as the Fox Battery Executive Officer, participating in Rolling Thunder 1-25 and a subsequent Unit Deployment Program deployment to Okinawa, Japan. In May 2026, she completed her tour as Executive Officer and currently serves as the Inspector-Instructor for November Battery, 5th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment.
