A native of Tallahassee, FL, LtCol Miller attended Florida State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and was commissioned in 2009. He subsequently completed The Basic School and the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course.

LtCol Miller’s initial fleet assignment was with Battery E, 2d Battalion, 12th Marines, 3d Marine Division, where he served as Fire Direction Officer and Platoon Commander, deploying to Helmand Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 11.1 and 11.2. In 2012, he reported to Company A, 1st Battalion, 3d Marines, serving as an Artillery Forward Observer and Company Fire Support Officer. During this tour, he participated in RIMPAC 2012 and deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific in support of the Unit Deployment Program, including Cobra Gold 13 and Ssang Yong 13.1.

Following selection on the Commandant’s Career Level Education Board, Captain Miller attended the Field Artillery Captains Career Course and subsequently remained at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, serving as Operations Officer, Gunnery Instructor, and Branch Chief with the Marine Artillery Detachment and United States Army Field Artillery School from 2014 to 2017.

In July 2017, Capt Miller reported to 10th Marine Regiment aboard Camp Lejeune, NC, where he served as the Director of the Artillery Training School. During this assignment, he attended the Allied Cold Weather Course in Norway and was certified as a head instructor in cold weather training.

In June 2018, Capt Miller assumed Command of Battery F, 2d Battalion, 10th Marines, supporting multiple live-fire exercises, including Exercise Trident Juncture 18 in Norway. Following Command, he served as the Assistant Operations Officer for 2d Battalion, 10th Marines before reporting to Marine Corps Security Force Battalion, Kings Bay, GA, in 2019.

While assigned to Marine Corps Security Force Battalion, Major Miller served as Company Commander for Company A and later as the Battalion Operations Officer. In 2022, he was selected for the Commandant’s Professional Intermediate Level Education Board for Air Command and Staff College, where he participated in the Schriever Space Scholar program sponsored by the United States Space Force.

In July 2023, Maj Miller reported to 10th Marine Regiment, serving as the Regimental Operations Officer and later Executive Officer for 2d Battalion, 10th Marines. Following promotion to Lieutenant Colonel in January 2025, he reported to Combined-Joint Task Force Security Assistance Group-Ukraine, where he served as the Deputy Fire Support Coordinator and Forward Advisor to Partner Forces. Upon returning in July 2025, he joined the II MEF Fires and Effects Coordination Center and was subsequently assigned to Joint Task Force Southern Spear as a Strike Director prior to his assignment as the Inspector-Instructor of 3d ANGLICO in Bell, CA.

LtCol Miller’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon. He holds a Master’s Degree in Defense and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College and a Master’s Degree in Military Operational Art and Strategy from the Air University.
