Captain Vince C. LaMonte is a native of Long Island, New York. In November 2018, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant through the Reserve Officer Commissioning Program. Second Lieutenant LaMonte completed The Basic School in June 2019 and Marine Artillery Officer Basic Course in December 2019.
Second Lieutenant LaMonte reported to Battery O, 5th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment and served as Guns Platoon Commander. In July 2020, he received orders to Fort Meade, where he served as Projects Officer in the Marine Forces Cyberspace Command G6 and Fires and Targeting Officer at Joint Task Force-ARES.
In July 2021, First Lieutenant LaMonte reported to Battery N, 5th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, where he served as a Company Fire Support Officer. In December 2022, First Lieutenant LaMonte transferred to Headquarters Battery, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment where he served as the Battery Executive Officer. From July 2023 to January 2025, he served as Battery Executive Officer at Battery H, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment.
Captain LaMonte deployed as a Fires Advisor in support of Security Assistance Group – Ukraine in 2025.
In March 2026, Captain LaMonte assumed command of Battery G, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment.
Captain LaMonte is a graduate of Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School and the U.S. Naval War College’s Command and Staff program. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the College of the Holy Cross and a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from National Intelligence University.
His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of second award.
Captain LaMonte works for the Department of War as a civil servant.
