Lieutenant Colonel Jessica Teixeira is a native of Pepperell, Massachusetts. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a concentration in Criminal Justice and a minor in Aerospace Studies. Following graduation, she attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in August 2008. She subsequently completed The Basic School with Golf Company 7-08 in April 2009, where she was designated as an Air Defense Control Officer.
Lieutenant Colonel Teixeira served three tours and two deployments prior to transitioning to the civilian sector and the Selected Marine Corps Reserve.
Her assignments include: Intelligence Officer, Assistant Security Manager, and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Officer with Marine Air Control Squadron 2, Marine Air Control Group 28 at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina; Command Element Training Officer with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Continuing Promise 2010 in Central and South America; Senior Traffic Director and Surveillance Identification Director with Marine Air Control Squadron 2, Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan; Current Operations Action Officer, Training Officer, and Deployed Support Branch Head with Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity, Camp Pendleton, California; Company Executive Officer, Wounded Warrior Battalion West, Naval Medical Center San Diego, California; and Company Commander, Wounded Warrior Battalion West, Camp Pendleton, California.
While in the Selected Marine Corps Reserve from 2018 to 2021, Lieutenant Colonel Teixeira served as an Assistant Detachment Commander and Civil-Military Operations Planner with 1st Civil Affairs Group at Camp Pendleton, California.
Her civilian assignments include Military Pathways Operations Manager at Amazon Fulfillment Center OAK4; Operations Manager for new facility LGB7; and Program Management Division Chief at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Diego, California.
Upon accession into the Active Reserve in 2021, Lieutenant Colonel Teixeira served as the Operations Officer and Executive Officer with Deployment Processing Command/Reserve Support Unit – East. In 2023, she was assigned as the Executive Assistant to the Legislative Assistant to the Commandant and as a Manpower/Administrative Officer at the Office of Legislative Affairs, Headquarters Marine Corps, the Pentagon.
In July 2026, Lieutenant Colonel Teixeira assumed her current role as Inspector-Instructor of 1st Civil Affairs Group.
Lieutenant Colonel Teixeira’s military education includes Marine Corps Communications-Electronics School (2009), Expeditionary Warfare School (Non-Resident, 2013), Command and Staff College (Non-Resident, 2015), Civil-Military Operations School (2019), and the Civil-Military Operations Planner Course (2021). She holds a Master of Science in Business Administration and Management (2011) from Boston University.
Her personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Gold Star in lieu of 2nd Award; the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, two Gold Stars in lieu of 3rd Award; and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
