Biography

 

Captain Jonathan G. Stinson
Commanding Officer
Company D, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion

Captain Stinson is a native Alaskan, and has lived in various communities throughout that great state. He attended OCS through the OCC-R program and commissioned in August of 2013.  After completing The Basic School BS in early March of 2014, 2ndLt Stinson attended Military Police Basic Officer Leadership Course (MPBOLC) in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. 2ndLt Stinson graduated from MPBOLC in July of 2014 and immediately reported to Detachment, Delta Company, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, located in JBER, Alaska.

2ndLt Stinson was initially assigned as the unit’s training officer, and worked closely with the Detachment Operations Chief.  In October of 2015 1stLt Stinson was assigned as platoon commander for the Det’s sole platoon (reinforced).  In August of 2016, 1stLt Stinson enrolled in the University of California, Irvine, School of law (UCI Law), and begin working towards a J.D. In August of 2016 1stLt Stinson was also then given the position of executive officer, Delta Company, 4thLE Bn, while he continued to serve as the de-facto platoon commander of Det, D Co. 

In October of 2018, Capt Stinson mobilized with the Georgia Deployment Program – Resolute Support Mission Roto 9 and deployed to the Republic of Georgia. Capt Stinson returned to CONUS and demobilized in May of 2019. Upon return, Capt Stinson resumed his duties as the executive officer for Delta Company, 4thLE Bn. 

In May of 2020 Capt Stinson graduated from UCI Law. He sat for the Alaska Bar exam in September of 2020 and was sworn into the Alaska Bar in November of 2020. He currently works as an Assistant District Attorney for the State of Alaska in the 3rd Judicial District. 
 
In June of 2021 he was assigned to his current position as the commanding officer for Delta Company 4th Law Enforcement Battalion.
