Captain Ryan Tallmadge
Commanding Officer
Support Company, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion

Captain Tallmadge is a native of Somerset, NJ.  He enlisted into the Marine Corps in October of 1999 and reported to MCRD Parris Island for basic training on September 5, 2000.  PFC Tallmadge graduated from Company A, 1st Recruit Training Battalion on December 1, 2000.  He then reported to Camp Geiger, NC for Marine Combat Training.  Following Marine Combat Training, PFC Tallmadge reported to NAS Pensacola for Naval Aircrew Candidate School and Aviation Machinist’s Mate Course.  He then reported to NAS Brunswick for SERE school.  PFC Tallmadge was promoted to LCpl and reported to MCAS Cherry Point for KC-130 Aircraft Mechanic Organizational Maintenance Course, and KC-130 Flight Mechanic Ground School.  He then reported to VMGRT-253, 2nd MAW, MCAS Cherry Point, NC for flight training on the KC-130 F/R/T model aircraft.  LCpl Tallmadge was qualified as a KC-130 flight mechanic on February 22, 2002. 

LCpl Tallmadge reported to VMGR-252, 2nd MAW, MCAS Cherry Point, NC in March 2002.  He was promoted to Corporal in May 2002 and Sergeant in April 2003.  Sergeant Tallmadge deployed in support of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit in April 2003 for Operation Iraqi Freedom.  In 2004, he attended KC-130 J Crew Chief Conversion School and became qualified as a Crew Chief Level 2 on the KC-130 J aircraft.  In 2005 he, again, deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the first ever combat deployment of the KC-130 J.  Upon returning from Iraq he supported humanitarian relief for the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Sergeant Tallmadge was honorable discharged from active duty on December 4, 2005.  Sergeant Tallmadge was promoted to Staff Sergeant while in the Individual Ready Reserve in May 2007.  He enrolled in Raritan Valley Community College and earned an A.S. of Environmental Science.  He then transferred to Rutgers University and earned a B.S. of Ecology and Natural Resources in May 2010.  Following graduation, he began a career with the US Forest Service.

Captain Tallmadge was accepted into Officer Candidate School and reported to Quantico, VA on September 22, 2013.  Upon completion on Officer Candidate School he reported to The Basic School.  2nd Lieutenant Tallmadge reported to Military Police Basic Officer Leader Course, Fort Leonard Wood, MO in July 2014.  Here he graduated as Honor Graduate and reported to Co D(-) in November 2014. Upon checking into Delta Company in Billings Montana, he was assigned as 2nd Platoon Commander.  He was promoted to First Lieutenant in November 2015 and to Captain in June 2018.  Captain Tallmadge reported to Support Company 4th Law Enforcement Battalion in October 2018.  In October 2019 he was activated in support of MARFORNOR’s Theater Security Cooperation mission in Mexico. Upon return from the activation, he assumed the Executive Officer for Support Company. Captain Tallmadge took over as Company Commander of Support Company in May of 2022.

Captain Tallmadge's personal awards include the Air Medal (8) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2).
