Major Benjamin R. Demandante
Inspector-Instructor
India Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment

Major Demandante is a native of Adak, Alaska.  He entered the Marine Corps and reported to The Basic School in May of 2015. While there, he completed the Basic Officer Course and Infantry Officer Course as a Second Lieutenant, concluding in June of 2016.

Major Demandante checked in 2d Battalion, 2d Marines in July 2016. While at 2/2, he served as a rifle platoon commander and deployed to Sigonella, Italy as a part of SPMAGTF CR-AF. In addition to serving as platoon commander, his primary duties during this deployment consisted of planning and conducting security cooperation missions with partner nations in Africa and Europe and serving as the crisis response force. Additionally, Major Demandante served as OIC for a static site security team in a remote location during this time. He was promoted to First Lieutenant in May 2017.

In April 2018, Major Demandante became platoon commander for a Combined Anti-Armor Team Platoon. He executed Exercise Trident Juncture while serving in this capacity.

In July 2019, Major Demandante transferred to Marine Corps Training Mission - UAE, where he served as a Senior Mechanized Infantry Battalion Advisor. While aboard MCTM-UAE, he served as: The senior advisor for a battalion in the UAE's Khalifa bin Zayed Brigade; liaison officer, range OIC, and trainer for Unit Enhancement Training aboard 29 Palms; and planner and primary platform instructor for several courses centered around small unit tactics and troop leader development.  He was promoted to Captain in September 2019.

Major Demandante attended the Naval Post Graduate School starting in July 2020, where he completed coursework in International Defense Studies. In July of 2021, he transferred to Defense Language Institute -Washington to study the Ukrainian language and complete the graduate education program. He successfully finished the program, attaining a score of 2+/2/2 on the Defense Language Proficiency Test.

Upon completion of the Defense Language Institute, Major Demandante was assigned to the International Affairs Branch as a Foreign Area Officer - Eurasia. During this time, he assisted in improving the accountability and administration of the Personnel Exchange Program and directly facilitated multinational staff talks with the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Australia. Concurrently, Major Demandante completed his In-Region Training, gaining familiarity with the operational culture of US State Department, foreign military, and foreign government entities in ten countries across the Eurasian subcontinent.

Major Demandante served as company commander, B Company, 1st Battalion, 2d Marines. While in this capacity, he commanded and controlled the company through Nordic Response 24, a 3-month multinational training exercise North of the Arctic Circle.  He was promoted to the rank of Major in September 2024.

Currently, Major Demandante serves as Inspector-Instructor for India Company, 3d Battalion, 25th Marines in Johnson City, TN.

Major Demandante graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Arabic in 2015 and holds a Master’s Degree in international Defense Studies from the Naval Post Graduate School. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
