Biography

 

Major Jonathan M. Hicks
Commanding Officer
Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment

Major Hicks attended Officer Candidates School in June 2010 and then returned to school to finish his degree. He then commissioned on 10 September 2011 and attended The Basic School in December 2011 followed by Infantry Officer Course in March 2013. After graduating IOC in June 2013, he was assigned as a Rifle Platoon Commander at Kilo Company, 3d Battalion, 8th Marines. During this assignment, he attended the Helicopter Rope Suspension Techniques (HRST) Masters Course, Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel (TRAP) school and SERE B+ in preparation for the SP-MAGTF Crisis Response where he deployed to Moron, Spain from February to August 2014. 
 
Upon his return from the Spain, he was reassigned to India Company as a Platoon Commander where he conducted an ITX. After ITX, he was reassigned as Executive Officer with H&S Company and deployed in support of the Black Sea Rotational Force (BSRF) in August 2015. He remained in this billet until he completed active duty service in May 2016.
 
In October 2017, Then Captain Hicks joined Lima Company, 3d Battalion, 25th Marines, where he held the roles as a Platoon Commander and Executive Officer until his current appointment as Commanding Officer in November 2021.
 
Major Hicks earned a B.A. in History from the University of Maryland College Park.
