Captain Chomiak is a native of Tucson, Arizona. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 2010 with a B.A in Near Eastern Studies and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 20 November 2010. Lieutenant Chomiak attended The Basic School and the Infantry Officer Course in 2011-2012 and was assigned to Third Battalion, Sixth Marines.
In March 2012 Lieutenant Chomiak reported to Third Battalion, Sixth Marines and was assigned as a Platoon Commander for Kilo Company. He deployed on a Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa, Japan from January to August 2013. While deployed Lieutenant Chomiak participated in the bilateral Exercise Balikatan 2013 in Crow Valley, Philippines. While deployed Lieutenant Chomiak became the Company Executive Officer for Kilo Company.
Upon return from deployment Lieutenant Chomiak was assigned as the Weapons Company Executive Officer and attended Fire Support Coordination Course in January 2014. Lieutenant Chomiak deployed with Battalion Landing Team 3/6, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit from December 2014 to July 2015. During the deployment Lieutenant Chomiak acted as the Fire Support Coordinator for Exercise Eager Lion 2015. Lieutenant Chomiak was promoted to Captain on 01 March 2015.
On 1 October 2015 Captain Chomiak reported to 4th Force Reconnaissance Company as the Site Commander for the Kaneohe Bay detachment. Following his arrival Captain Chomiak attended the Basic Reconnaissance Course, United States Army Basic Airborne Course, and Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE) training in order to achieve a baseline of understanding of reconnaissance operations.
