Lieutenant Colonel Paul B. Kozick
Inspector-Instructor
4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion

LtCol Kozick was commissioned in 2006, completed The Basic School in March 2007, and reported to the Armor Basic Officer Leaders Course at Fort Knox, KY.  He was then assigned to 2nd Tank Battalion in Camp Lejeune, NC in July 2007.  He served as the Assistant Battalion Logistics Officer and subsequently as the Platoon Commander for 3rd Platoon, Company B where he deployed ISO OIF 09.2 in April 2009 as a Mobile Assault Platoon.  Upon return from deployment, LtCol Kozick assumed the duties of Executive Officer and Commanding Officer, Headquarters and Service (H&S) Company, 2nd Tank Battalion.  

In 2010, he transferred to the Marine Corps Detachment, Fort Knox, Kentucky where he assumed the duties as Tactics Officer at the Armor Basic Officer Leaders Course.  In May 2011, LtCol Kozick moved with the Armor School to Fort Benning, Georgia and assumed command of the Marine Training Company.  He transferred to 1st Tank Battalion, MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, California in September 2013 where he served as the battalion’s Fire Support Coordinator. He then assumed command of Company D, 1st Tank Battalion from May 2014 to September 2015 and was subsequently assigned as the battalion Assistant Operations Officer until May 2016.

In June 2016, he reported to Marine Corps Combat Development Command (MCCDC), where he filled the billet of the Heavy Armor Capabilities Integration Officer.  In August 2018, he performed the duties as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General, MCCDC/Deputy Commandant, Combat Development and Integration. In 2019 he attended the U.S. Army’s School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) at Fort Leavenworth, KS. He reported to III MEF Command Element in September 2020 where he served as the G-35 Pacific Plans Planner and the G-5 Director of Plans. He then attended the Air War College and graduated in May 2024.

LtCol Kozick holds a B.S. in Business and Information Technology and two graduate degrees in Military Operations and Strategic Studies. His formal military education includes the U.S. Army Maneuver Captains Career Course, the U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College Distance Education Program, the U.S. Army’s SAMS, and the Air War College.  He is also a graduate of the Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course.

LtCol Kozick assumed duties as the Inspector-Instructor of 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion in June 2024.
