Sergeant Major Hawkins is a native of Baltimore , MD. She enlisted in the Marine Corps on 15 May 1999 and subsequently graduated boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina.
In May 2000, she reported as a student to Basic Supply Stock Control School, Camp Johnson, North Carolina. Upon completion of the course, she was assigned to Detachment 1, Supply Company, 4th Supply Battalion, 4th FSSG, Anacostia, Washington, DC as a Basic Supply Administration and Operations clerk.
In August 2001, she reported to 1st Beach and Terminal Operations Company (-) (Rein), 4th Landing Support Battalion, 4th FSSG, San Jose, California.
In August 2002, she then reported to Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 48, Marine Air Control Group 48, 4th MAW, Great Lakes, IL as a Supply Administration and Operations clerk. Upon her promotion to Sergeant, she deployed and attached to Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 38 (fwd) in Al Asad, Iraq.
In May 2005, she deactivated and transferred to the Individual Ready Reserve, awaiting reassignment. While in the IRR she was promoted to Staff Sergeant, and returned to the SMCR in 2006 where she attached to Marine Wing Communications Squadron 48, 4th MAW, Great Lakes, IL. After 1 year, she attended the Reserve Career Retention Specialist Course, and returned to Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 48 to serve as the Squadron Career Planner.
In 2011, as a Gunnery Sergeant, she served as the Marine Air Control Group 48, 4th MAW, Great Lakes, IL Reserve Career Planner SNCOIC.
In 2014, First Sergeant Hawkins then assumed the duties of Company First Sergeant of Transportation Services Company, Combat Logistics Battalion-23, CLR-4, 4th MLG and in 2017 was assigned as the Company First Sergeant at Engineer Company C, 6th Engineer Support Battalion, 4th MLG.
Sergeant Major Hawkins was assigned to 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Division in 2020 as the Battalion Sergeant Major. Additionally in 2021, she was assigned as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Human Performance Branch, Policy and Standards Division, Training and Education Command.
Her personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various other Service and Campaign Medals.
In her civilian career, Sergeant Major Hawkins holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and is employed as a Physical Therapist whom specializes in Sports Medicine. She maintains numerous advanced certifications and licenses, and carries a special interest in Orthopedic Trauma and the Tactical Athlete.
