Sergeant Major Christopher L. Myers enlisted in the Marine Corps in January 2001. He attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon graduation in April 2001, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Private First Class. In June 2001, he reported to Marine Combat Training on Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Upon completion he was transferred to Naval Air Station (NAS) Meridian, MS to attend the Aviation Operations Specialist (AOS) Course Military Occupational Specialist (MOS) 7041.

Once he graduated from MOS school, he transferred to Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, NC for duty as an Operations Clerk for Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 14, Personnel Support Detachment (PSD) 14 from July 2001 until January 2003. Private First Class Myers was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal and held multiple billets, ranging from Operations to Ground Training Clerk. In mid-January 2003 he was deployed to Iraq in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, 03.1, Southern Watch, and Iraqi Freedom, where he was subsequently promoted to the rank of Corporal. In March 2003 Corporal Myers reattached to MAG-14 and assumed the roles of Assistant Operations and Ground Training Chief.

After completing his tour of duty at MAG-14 in 2005, he transferred to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (TORRI), MCAS Iwakuni Japan, where he held the billets of Flight Planning Chief and Ground Training NCO. He participated in various unit-training exercises, also processed all American, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, and partner countries, inbound and outbound aircraft. In January 2006, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Soon thereafter he volunteered for assignment to recruiting duty. Sergeant Myers attended Basic Recruiter School class 3-08 at MCRD San Diego California. Upon graduation from the Basic Recruiters’ School he was transferred to the 8th Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station Dallas, Texas, Recruiting Substation Garland from April 2008 to April 2011. Sergeant Myers was promoted to Staff Sergeant on January 2010.

Upon completion of an immensely successful tour of recruiting duty he was transferred to Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Marine Heavy Helicopter (HMH) 363. Following his arrival to the “Red Lions” the unit subsequently deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 11.2, where he held the billet of Operations Chief. Following the unit’s return from a 6-month deployment on 10 May 2012, HMH-363 was deactivated. Staff Sergeant Myers subsequently executed a PCA to the unit’s sister squadron HMH-463 where he reprised the billet of Operations Chief and Uniformed Victim Advocate while also participating in various unit-training exercises. Staff Sergeant Myers was then hand selected to assume the duties of the MAG-24 PSD Operations Chief.

In June of 2014 Staff Sergeant Myers was transferred to Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 3, MCAS Miramar, California, where he held the billet of Assistant Operations Chief. Staff Sergeant Myers was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant on November 2014 and was subsequently deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve with the SPMAGTF. Upon his return he was once again hand selected to serve at MAG level operations as the MAG-11 Operations Chief.

On “” of 2017 Gunnery Sergeant Myers received orders to Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron One, Naval Air Station Meridian, MS. He was assigned to the Aviation Operations Specialist Course where he held the billet of Course Supervisor until May 2018, when Gunnery Sergeant Myers was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant and subsequently assigned to Battery M, 3d Battalion, 14th Marines, Chattanooga, Tennessee as the Inspector Instructor First Sergeant. Until April of 2021, when First Sergeant Myers received orders to HQ Support Battalion MCI West (Scorpion), where he served as H&S Company First Sergeant.

In Feb 2022 Sergeant Major Myers was frocked to his current rank, and was assigned as the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 362 Sergeant Major. On April 11, 2022 the unit composited to the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) also Sergeant Major Myers was appointed as the Aviation Combat Element Sergeant Major just prior to the start of the squadron's pre-deployment training plan. SgtMaj Myers deployed with the 13th MEU from November to June 2023. The first time the MEU has deployed to “INDOPACOM” in 20 years.

In July of 2025, Sergeant Major Myers was assigned to his current role as the 1st Battalion, 23d Marine Regiment, Houston, Texas, Inspector Instructor Command Senior Enlisted Leader.

Sergeant Major Myers' personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Commendation Medal with a gold star in lieu of 3rd award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of 4th award, and Good Conduct Medal with Silver Star in lieu of 7th award.
