Biography

 

Captain Wayne R Cleary III
Inspector-Instructor
Truck Company, 25th Marine Regiment

Captain Cleary attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD from 2009 to 2013 where he graduated with two Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and Information Technology. He received a commission in the United States Marine Corps on 24 May 2013 and reported to The Basic School in July of that year. Upon completion of The Basic School in January 2014, Second Lieutenant Cleary reported to Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry East to serve as a Research Monitor and Ombudsman in the Combined Arms Integration Study. In May of 2014, Second Lieutenant Cleary reported to Logistics Officer’s Course, with a follow on assignment to 2d Maintenance Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 25, 2d Marine Logistics Group. At 2d Maintenance Battalion, Second Lieutenant Cleary served as the Platoon Commander for Support Platoon, General Support Maintenance Company, Executive Officer of General Support Maintenance Company, and S-4 Officer.

While at 2d Maintenance Battalion, First Lieutenant Cleary detached to Combat Logistics Battalion-252 to serve as the MAGTF Offload Liaison Officer and Cave OIC for Cold Response-16. Following the exercise, First Lieutenant Cleary served as the Operations Officer, and Motor Transport Maintenance Company Executive Officer.

In 2017, First Lieutenant Cleary deployed to Combined Joint Task Force – Inherent Resolve, Combined Joint 4, to serve as a Battle Captain for sustainment operations.

Upon returning from this deployment, Captain Cleary resumed serving as the Operations Officer of 2d Maintenance Battalion. In June 2018, he graduated from the Intermediate MAGTF Logistics Operations Course at the Marine Corps Logistics Operations Group in Twenty-nine Palms.

In June 2018, Captain Cleary executed orders and assumed the role of Inspector-Instructor, Truck Company, 25th Marines, Erie, PA.

His personal awards include the Joint Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal.
