Biography

 

Lieutenant Colonel Christopher B. Reiser
Commanding Officer
6th Communication Battalion

Lieutenant Colonel Reiser is a native of Buena, New Jersey.  He attended the ten week Platoons Leaders Course, Officer Candidate School during the summer of 2005.  Upon graduation from Radford University, he received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in May 2006.  2nd Lieutenant Reiser attended The Basic School from November 2006 to June 2007 then on to Basic Communications Officer Course from July through December 2007.

Upon graduation Lieutenant Reiser received orders to Camp Lejeune, NC.  He joined Combat Logistics Regiment (CLR) 2 Combat Logistics Battalion (CLB) 8 from December 2007 through June 2010.  As the S-6, Lieutenant Reiser deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) to Helmand Province, Afghanistan from March 2009 through October 2009.

Captain Reiser received orders to Quantico, VA to the Marine Corps Information Operations Center (MCIOC) from June 2010 through March 2013.  Major Reiser picked up the additional MOS of Information Operations (IO) Planner and deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of Regional Command (RC) Southwest from September 2011 through March 2012.

In March of 2013 Captain Reiser left Active Duty (AD) and joined the Marine Corps Reserve.  Captain Reiser was part of the MCIOC Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) Detachment from March 2013 through April of 2017 as an IO Planner and S-6. 

From April 2017 through June 2018 Major Reiser joined the 2nd Civil Affairs Group as their S-6.  From June 2018 through September 2021 Major Reiser was the Company Commander of Service Company, 6th Communication Battalion.

From October 2021 through September 2024 Lieutenant Colonel Reiser joined the MAGTF Staff Training Program (MSTP) IMA Detachment as an IO/Cyber planner in support of joint and MEF-level exercises. 

In September of 2024, Lieutenant Colonel Reiser took command of 6th Communication Battalion.

Lieutenant Colonel Reiser holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Radford University in Political Science and History.  He holds a Master of Science from Webster University in International Relations and a Master of Science from the University of Maryland in Cyber Security. 

Lieutenant Colonel Reisers’ personal awards are a Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal and a Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3).
