Biography

 

Major Adam L. Staff
Company Commander
Headquarters and Service Company

Major Staff is a native of Jacksonville, North Carolina.  He graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2007 and was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps in December of 2009. 

After Completing the Basic School and Infantry Officers Course, Lieutenant Staff was assigned to 3d Battalion, 3d Marines, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii in January of 2011.  As a platoon commander for 2d Platoon, Kilo Company he deployed to RCT-SW (Garmsier, Afghanistan) with the battalion main effort in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2011 to 2012.  Upon returning from deployment he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal then assigned to Weapons Company where he served as executive officer.  In 2013 he deployed with 3/3 to Okinawa, Japan on the Unit Deployment Program.

Captain Staff was then assigned to SOI-W where he served as executive officer and company commander for Company D, Infantry Training Battalion from 2014 to 2017.  During his time there he completed Expeditionary Warfare School and was awarded the Combat Instructor Ribbon and Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.

In August of 2017 Captain Staff directly affiliated into the United States Marine Corps Reserves assigned to Company G, 2d Battalion, 24th Marines as the company executive officer. 

In June of 2019 Captain Staff joined 1st Battalion, 25th Marines as Charlie Company Commander for an activation and deployment to Okinawa, Japan as part of UDP 20.1.  Returning from UDP 20.1 Major Staff officially transferred to 1st Battalion, 25th Marines in the same capacity. 

In October of 2022, after completing his time in command, Major Staff enrolled in the Command and Staff College, successfully finishing the course through the funded weekend seminar. He graduated in 2024 and subsequently joined 2d Battalion, 25th Marines, where he currently serves as the Headquarters and Service Company Commander. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
