Major Charles Clark is a native ofEscondido, CA. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant on 10 December 2010 after graduating from Officer Candidates School. Upon graduation, he attended the Basic Officer Course in Quantico, VA. After graduation in June 2011, he received orders to attend the Basic Communications Officer Course in Quantico, VA. Second Lieutenant Clark graduated fourth in his class on 16 December, 2011.
After completing MOS school, Second Lieutenant Clark checked in to Communications Company, Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division in January 2012. While with Communications Company, he assumed the responsibilities of the Multi-channel Radio (MUX) Platoon Commander and participated in in two company level field exercises. In March 2013, he received orders to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division.
After checking in with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, Second Lieutenant Clark deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, from March to October 2012, as the battalion's Communications Officer. He was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant in December 2012. In October 2013, he deployed again with the battalion in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After re-deploying in May 2014, he received orders back to Communications Company, Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division in July 2014.
While with Communications Company, First Lieutenant Clark served as the Wire Platoon Commander. He participated in three company level exercises, as well as a division level exercise, while also serving as a Systems Control Watch Officer.
He then received orders to G-6, Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron-2 (MWHS-2), 2d Marine Aircraft Wing in January 2015.
First Lieutenant Clark checked into the squadron and was immediately sent TAD to Marine Wing Communications Squadron-28 (MWCS-28) to serve as the Assistant Operations Officer. During his time with MWCS-28, he was promoted to the rank of Captain. He was later selected to serve as the Communications Advisor for the II Marine Expeditionary Force Advise and Assist Team 30, attaching to the team in August 2015. He deployed in March 2016 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Captain Clark re-deployed in December 2016 and returned to G-6, MWHS-2 in January 2017, where he served as the Operations Officer. During his time in the G-6, he planned the communications architecture for several Wing-level and larger exercises until his departure.
In July 2018, he received orders to Tactical Training and Exercise Control Group were he served as the Command and Control Systems Representative and Exercise Controller, callsign 'Coyote 10B.' In July 2020, Captain Clark received orders and reported as the Inspector-Instructor, Communications Company, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, where he currently serves. He was promoted to Major in October 2020.
Major Clark has a Bachelor's of Art with a major in History from the University of California, San Diego.
Major Clark's awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two Gold Stars, and various other Service and Campaign medals.
