Major Peters enlisted in the Marine Corps in June of 1999. He graduated Recruit Training at MCRD Parris Island in August of 1999. After attending the School of Infantry, he joined 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines in Twentynine Palms, CA and served as an Anti-tank Missileman (0352 TOW Gunner) from 1999-2003.
He received orders for Marine Security Guard School and served in Bucharest, Romania; Dhaka, Bangladesh; and Singapore from 2003-2006.
He was selected for the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program and attended University of Maryland, College Park from 2007-2010 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology. He commissioned in December 2010.
He then attended The Basic School and Infantry Officer’s Course in 2011 receiving orders thereafter to 3d Battalion, 5th Marines. He deployed with Lima Company on the 15th MEU and Kilo company on the 31st MEU from 2012-2014.
After his tour with 3/5, he joined Marine Corps Embassy Security Group as an Inspecting Officer and served in Region 3, Bangkok, Thailand (SE Asia & Pacific) from January 2015 to June 2018.
He assumed command of Marine Security Guard Security Augmentation Unit (MSAU) in June 2018 and relinquishing command in December 2019 and served as the MSAU Executive Officer through July of 2020.
He currently serves as Inspector-Instructor of Site Support Broken Arrow, Oklahoma for Anti-Tank Training Company, 25th Marines.
