Captain Aidan Dahm is a native of Camp Lejeune, NC and attended Oakland University in Auburn Hills, MI where he received a Bachelor or Arts in Criminal Justice in 2015. He completed Officer Candidate School at Quantico, Virginia, and commissioned in March 2016. He then completed The Basic School and Infantry Officer that same year.
After graduation, Captain Dahm took orders with 3d Battalion, 4th Marines in 29 Palms, California and reported in February of 2017. During this time, he served as Platoon Commander in Company I and deployed in support of the Marine Rotational Force-Darwin. Upon the end of his orders in February 2018, 2nd Lieutenant Dahm returned home to Michigan and checked in with 1st Battalion, 24th Marines, Company A, where he took over as the Commander for the until September 2018. He was promoted to 1st Lieutenant during this time. With the return of the original Commander from his orders in September of 2018, 1st Lieutenant took over as the Executive Officer, Fire Support Team Leader, and served as a Platoon Commander.
In May 2020, he promoted to Captain and continued his learning by serving as OIC for the battalion's UAS course and attending the Fire Support Coordination Course. Captain Dahm then attended Summer Mountain Leaders Course in Bridgeport, CA and graduated in September 2021 to prepare for the battalion's Mountain Training Exercise (MTX). In July of 2022, he took over as Company Commander for the exercise and returned to his duties as the Executive Officer and Fire Support Team Leader post exercise.
In November of 2023, Captain Dahm volunteered for a mobilization in support of MARFOREUR/AF in Norway. From November 2023 to September 2024 Dahm served as the Deputy OIC for Marine Coordination Element- Norway aboard the Norwegian Army installation Setermoen-Leir where he worked alongside Norwegian counterparts ensuring that Nordic Response 24 and all other Marine Corps activities in northern Norway were successful. During this time he worked with the Norwegian Army, MARFOREUR/AF personnel, II MEF entities, and various other DoD forces conducting operations in the area. Captain Dahm returned home to Company A at the end of September and began drilling with his unit again in October. In November 2024, Captain Dahm took over as Commander, Company A, where he is currently serving.
