Major Christopher S. Aument
Company Commander
Weapons Company, 2d Battalion, 23d Marine Regiment

Major Aument is a native of  Arlington Heights, Illinois. He completed undergraduate studies at the United States Naval Academy, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, with Honors, and a commission as a second lieutenant on 27 May, 2011.
 
After completing the Basic Officer Course in December 2011 and the Infantry Officer Course in March 2012, Second Lieutenant Aument was assigned to Company F, Second Battalion, First Marines, First Marine Division. As a rifle platoon commander in Boat Company, Second Lieutenant Aument deployed to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit 12.2. After promotion to first lieutenant, he then transferred to Company G and deployed as the Air Assault Company Executive Officer to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit 14.2.
 
First Lieutenant Aument then executed orders in August 2015 to Region 2, Marine Corps Embassy Security Group, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this assignment, he promoted to the rank of captain and served first as the operations and training officer and then as the logistics officer for the 21 active detachments in 14 countries throughout the Middle East and Southwest Asia.
 
In August of 2017, Major Aument was assigned as the Assistant Operations Officer, Third Battalion, First Marines, First Marine Division. He deployed with the battalion to the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit 2.18.
 
In August of 2019, Major Aument assumed command of Company A, First Battalion, Fourth Marines, First Marine Division. He deployed to provide Defense Support to Civil Authorities with the Southwest Border Mission in Southern California.
 
In September of 2020, Major Aument assumed command of Headquarters Company, First Marine Regiment, First Marine Division, where he served until relinquishing command and transitioning from the Active Component to the Selected Marine Corps Reserve in June of 2022.
 
Major Aument assumed command of Weapons Company Second Battalion, 23rd Marines, Fourth Marine Division in June of 2022.
 
Major Aument graduated from the Expeditionary Warfare School Blended Seminar Program, Naval War College Command and Staff Distance Education Program, Advanced Maneuver Warfare Course at the Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group, and various Service and Joint courses.
