Major Louis E. Roger
Inspector-Instructor
Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 23d Marine Regiment

Major Louis E. Roger a native of Norfolk, Virginia, and was raised in Lilburn, Georgia. In 2015, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps through the Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Auburn University.

Following graduation of The Basic School and the Infantry Officer Course in 2016, he was assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division in Twentynine Palms, California. While there, Lieutenant Roger served as a rifle platoon commander and company Executive Officer, deploying to Iraq in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE in 2017 and 2019 as a part of SPMAGTF-CR-CC. While on his second deployment, 1stLt Roger was promoted to the rank of Captain.

From 2020-2023, Captain Roger served in the supporting establishment as the Assistant Operations Officer, AC/S G-3, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island South Carolina. He was transferred to serve as a Series Commander, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment. Additionally, Captain Roger served as the Academics Instructor at the Officer Candidates School aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico.

In 2023, Captain Roger was assigned to 3d Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune North Carolina, where he was assigned as the Company Commander for Company K and executed the battalion’s Mountain Training Exercise 3-24. He was promoted to Major in July of 2024.

Upon his promotion, Major Roger received orders and reported to his current billet, Inspector-Instructor for Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 23d Marines located in Austin, TX.

Major Roger is a graduate of Expeditionary Warfare School and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Auburn University. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two stars.
