Captain James T. Quinn (DC)
Executive Officer
4th Dental Battalion

Captain Quinn is a native of Long Island, New York. He received his dental degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 1991. In 1993, Dr. Quinn completed the post-doctoral program in pediatric dentistry at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and The Children’s Hospital - Boston. Following that training, he worked as an associate until opening his own private practice in September 1996 in Newburyport Massachusetts.    

On 18DEC2000, Dr Quinn received a direct commission as a lieutenant in the Navy Reserve Dental Corps. After receiving his commission, he was assigned to Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Detachment O. In August 2002, Lieutenant Quinn was promoted to Lt Commander. In October 2005, he was assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion TWO SEVEN as Battalion dental officer. He was deployed to Al Asad Iraq in June 2008 with the Sea Bees in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon returning from the Middle East in May 2009, he was assigned to the Seventh Naval Construction Regiment as the Regimental Surgeon. Dr Quinn was promoted to the rank of Commander in July 2009. After three years with the Regiment, he was assigned to the Navy Medicine Education and Training Command in Jacksonville, Florida as their training officer. Dr Quinn was promoted to Captain on 01July 2015 and was then assigned to Expeditionary Medical Facility, Bethesda as their Senior Dental Executive. Following that tour, he became the Administrations Officer for the 4th Dental Battalion, Marine Forces Reserve. In March 2021, Capt Quinn was selected as the Command Officer in Charge for the newly established NR ASU Red Rover in Battle Creek Michigan. He then served as Regional Director and staff dentist for NMRTC Camp Pendleton. Presently, he serves as the Executive Officer of the 4th Dental Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group, Marine Forces Reserve. Additionally, he serves as the Navy Reserve Pediatric Dental Specialty Leader and as a member of the Medical Executive Committee for Navy Reserve Medicine credentialling.

Captain Quinn is a Fleet Marine Force Qualified Officer as well as a Sea Bee Combat Warfare Officer. He has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
