Biography

 

Captain Ian A. Wiggins
Company Commander
Littoral Craft Company D., 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion

Captain Ian Wiggins is a native of Indialantic, Florida. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on October 14, 2014, and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. After graduating from recruit training, he was designated as a Landing Support Specialist (MOS 0481) and was assigned to Headquarters and Service Company, 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, where he served in the S-4 Section.

Captain Wiggins was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on August 6, 2016, as part of Officer Candidate Class (OCC) 222. Upon completing The Basic School, he was designated as an Armor Officer (MOS 1802). His initial assignment was with 2d Tank Battalion, 2d Marine Division. Following the divestment of tank battalions in 2020, he completed a lateral move to Financial Management Officer (MOS 3404), serving as the Budget Officer for 2d Marine Logistics Group and as the Assistant Disbursing Officer for II Marine Expeditionary Force.

After leaving active duty in 2023, Captain Wiggins completed another lateral move to Assault Amphibian Officer (MOS 1803) and returned to the Marine Corps Reserves. From January 2024 to December 2024, he served as the Company Commander of Headquarters and Service Company, 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion. In February 2025, he assumed command of Littoral Craft Company Delta, 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion.

Captain Wiggins' awards include a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. He is a graduate of University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and the University of Florida Levin College of Law with a Juris Doctor.
