Captain David B. Kraft
Commanding Officer
ALPHA COMPANY, 1ST BATTALION, 25TH MARINES

A native of Peck, Kansas, Captain Kraft graduated from McPherson College with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and sociology. Captain Kraft joined the Marine Corps through Officer Selection Station (OSS) Norman, Oklahoma in February 2013. He attended Officer Candidates School in June of 2013 and was commissioned in August of 2013. Upon completion of Officer Candidates School, Second Lieutenant Kraft reported to The Basic School in August 2013. Upon graduation from The Basic School, he reported to Infantry Officers Course in March of 2014. Upon designation as an Infantry Officer, Second Lieutenant Kraft was assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in October 2014. He served as a Weapons Platoon Commander and FiST leader with Company B. He deployed with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit from June to December 2016. In February of 2017 First Lieutenant Kraft was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He served as Company Executive Officer with Weapons Company. He deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit from February to July 2018. In September of 2018 Captain Kraft received orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California and was assigned a Series Commander in Company G. In June of 2019 Captain Kraft assumed command of Company E and served in this billet until July 2021. Upon completion of his active duty service, Captain Kraft affiliated with Company B, 1st Battalion, 25th Marines in Londonderry, New Hampshire where he served as the Company Executive officer. In August of 2022, Captain Kraft assumed command of Company A, 1st Battalion, 25th Marines in Brunswick, Maine where he serves currently.

Captain Kraft's personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon.
