Colonel Allan G. Jaster

Colonel Allan G. Jaster received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Centenary College in 1994 and a Master of Science degree from the University of Arkansas in 1997. 
Colonel Jaster was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in August 1997, and he attended The Basic School and later the Engineer Officer Course.  His first duty assignment was with 7th Engineer Support Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California.  He then held Company Command billets at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego and at Marine Wing Support Squadron-172 in Okinawa, Japan.  
In 2005 Colonel Jaster deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as an individual augment with the MEF ISF Directorate. Upon his return he transitioned to the Select Marine Corps Reserve, where he affiliated with 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, San Antonio, Texas.  After attending the Infantry Officer Course, he deployed again to Iraq with 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion.  At the conclusion of this deployment, he assumed command of Charlie Company, 4th Recon, and was subsequently assigned as the Battalion's Executive Officer.
In 2012 Colonel Jaster joined 1st Civil Affairs Group, Camp Pendleton and served as a Detachment OIC.  After two years at the CAG he transferred to the 4th Marine Division in New Orleans, Louisiana.   In 2015 he was selected to command the 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, San Antonio, Texas.  Post command he served as an Anti-Terrorism Officer at Marine Forces Pacific, Camp Smith, Hawaii.  In 2018 he rejoined 1st Civil Affairs Group as the Executive Officer.  In March of 2020 Colonel Jaster was assigned as the Commanding Officer of 1st Civil Affairs.  Upon completion of his command tour at 1st CAG he was assigned to his current billet as the Assistant Division Commander of the 4th Marine Division.  
Colonel Jaster is a graduate of Expeditionary Warfare School, Command and Staff College, Air War College and the Joint and Combined Warfighting School.
