First Sergeant Lawrence enlisted in the Marine Corps in December 2006. She attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. After graduating she attended Marine Combat Training and Personnel Administration School in North Carolina. Her first duty assignment was Marine Aviation Training Support Group-21 Pensacola, FL as an S-1 clerk. While there she was promoted to to the ranks of Lance Corporal and Corporal. During this time 1stSgt Lawrence completed her martial arts training up to brown belt and also the Corporal Leadership Course.
In June 2010 1stSgt Lawrence received orders to Headquarters and Service Battalion Henderson Hall, Arlington VA where she served as an Adjutant Clerk. During this assignment, 1stSgt Lawrence completed a joint forces leadership seminar. She was the security manager and gave support to the Pentagon, Naval Annex, Marine Barracks 8th & I. There she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. 1stSgt Lawrence was hand selected in 2012 to be reassigned to the Washington Navy Yard to assist with Physical Evaluation Boards. Also, she was responsible for all medical records for the BUMED and VA ratings for the Navy and Marine Corps. During this tour 1stSgt Lawrence reenlisted in the beloved Corps.
In July 2014, 1stSgt Lawrence received orders to Recruiting duty and was assigned to Marine Corps Recruiting Station Orlando. During her tour she filled a SNCO billet as a Military Entrancing Processing Station Liaison. She received MEPS liaison of the year award for FY 16. In Jan 2016 she was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
​After completing her special duty assignment in October 2017 she was assigned to Site Support Albany Ga where she served as the Administration Chief. Also she served as the Toys 4 Tots coordinator and received 3rd place in the nation for coordinator of the year. J anuary 2020 she was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
October 2020 she was assigned to the Regional Personnel Administration Center as the 1st stage Inbounds SNCOIC. In October 2022 she was assigned as the H&S Bn, MCI-EAST administrative chief. Along with these duties she was the SAPR VA, Command Financial Specialist, EFMP Coordinator and Voting Representative for the battalion from October 2020 to June 2024.
June 2024 she was promoted to the rank of 1stSgt and assigned to 4th AAB, Alpha Company as the Senior Enlisted Leader. First Sergeant Lawrence personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 2 Gold Stars, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (in lieu of 2nd award), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with 4 bronze Stars.
