Captain Victor L. Tubera
Commanding Officer
Alpha Company, 1st Bn, 23D Marine Regiment

Victor Luciano Tubera is a native of Modesto, California. He attended the California State University Chico in 2013 and graduated with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Psychology in May 2015. Candidate Tubera attended Officer Candidate School in 2015 where he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. He then began The Basic School in February of 2016 and graduated from the Infantry Officer Course in September of that same year, earning the MOS 0302.

Second Lieutenant Tubera checked into 1st Battalion 1st Marines in October of 2016 where he was assigned Weapons Platoon Commander and Fire Support Team Leader, Company C. He deployed on the 31st MEU in November 2017 where he was promoted to
First Lieutenant. During his time with 1/1, First Lieutenant Tubera participated in OPERATIONS Steel Knight and Iron Fist, ITX 4-17 and completed Mech Raider's Course along with Raid Leader's Course. Additionally, he graduated from the Fire Support Coordination Course.

Upon return in 2018, First Lieutenant Tubera was temporarily assigned the billet of Executive Officer Headquarters Company, 1st Marine Regiment while awaiting orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. He served in this billet for three months,
conducting a Tactical Smaller Leader's Course, supporting MEF level exercise MEFEX and conducting OPERATION Agile Quest. While with Headquarters Company, First Lieutenant Tubera began volunteering in the City of Costa Mesa as the veteran's liaison
where he coordinated multiple veteran tours of Camp Pendleton.

In June 2018, First Lieutenant Tubera was assigned to 1st Recruit Training Battalion, 1st Recruit Training Regiment, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. He completed Series Commander's Course and was assigned to Company D. He completed one
training cycle with Company D as an assistant Series Commander before taking command of Follow Series, Company B. As a Series Commander, First Lieutenant Tubera led over 30 Drill Instructors during five cycles and transformed over 800 recruits into United
States Marines. While on off cycle, Captain Tubera completed Martial Arts Instructor Course, graduating at the top of his class, receiving the Honor Graduate and Gung-Ho Awards.

In November of 2019 First Lieutenant Tubera left active duty and stayed in San Diego, California as a Behavioral Therapist. In January of 2020 Captain Tubera affiliated with H&S Company, 2/23 where he served as the Executive Officer and Liaison Officer. In February of 2021 he conducted an interunit transfer to Company E to serve as the Executive Officer. He completed ITX 4-21 as the Company Executive Officer and was subsequently mobilized to Fort Pickett, Virginia in support of OPERATION Allies Welcome. Captain Tubera was then activated to deploy overseas in support of OPERATION Allies Welcome - Kosovo, where he served as the Battalion Executive Officer for Task Force Peregrine.

Upon returning, Captain Tubera took command of Company A 1st Battalion 23d Marines. He recently completed ITX 4-23 where his company was recognized as the Most Lethal Company in the battalion. Captain Tubera currently continues his role as company
commander of Company A.

In the civilian sector Victor is a Behavioral Therapist, working with clients diagnosed with a variety of mental disorders. He currently is completing his master's degree in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership at the University of San Diego. Furthermore, Captain Tubera is in the second phase of testing to becoming a FBI Special Agent. Finally, his hobbies include professional MMA fighting and training.

Captain Tubera's personal awards include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Select Marine Corps Reserve Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary
Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Marine Corps Drill Instructor Ribbon, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with "M" device.
