Major James C. Tetreault
Inspector-Instructor
Company C, 1st Battalion, 23d Marines

Major James Tetreault graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2008 and commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps through the Officer Candidates Class program in 2012.  In 2014-2017, he served as a Battalion Adjutant and Platoon Commander for 2d Battalion, 4th Marines where he deployed twice in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.  He then served as 5th Marine Regiment’s Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Officer and Guard Force Officer in Charge.  In 2017-2018, he served as a foreign military advisor for United States Military Training Mission-Marine Forces Detachment, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he advised and assisted the Royal Saudi Marine Forces at the brigade and battalion level.  In 2018-2020, he served as a company commander for Company C and Company L at School of Infantry (West).  In 2020, he deployed as the force generation officer in support of CJTF-OIR.  Between Dec 2020 and Jan 2022 he served as H&S Company Commander at 3d Battalion, 2d Marines (3/2).  He then served as the Ground Watch Officer, MEU Support Officer, Destructive Weather Officer, and Personnel Recovery Coordinator at G-33 Current Operations, II MEF.  He currently serves as the Inspector-Instructor at Company C, 1st Battalion, 23d Marines.  Major Tetreault is a graduate Expeditionary Warfare School Distance Program (with distinction).  His hobbies include sporting clays, judo, and playing guitar.  His personal awards include the Joint Commendation Medal; the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal; and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (gold star in lieu of second award).
