Capt. Andrew St. John is a native of Norman, Oklahoma where he competed in school sports such as swimming, track, cross country, and wrestling. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2013 with a Bachelor of Sciences in Criminal Justice and began working for FedEx as a Delivery Driver, organizing route layouts and training new delivery drivers. In January 2016 he attended Officer Candidate School and commissioned in the United States Marine Corps in March of 2016.
Upon completing The Basic School and Infantry Officer’s Course in Quantico, Virginia in December of 2016; Second Lieutenant St. John reported to AT TOW Company, 25th Marines in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. There he served as Weapons Platoon Commander. From February 2017 to October 2017, Second Lieutenant St. John deployed as a Foreign Military Advisor with the Georgian Deployment Program, ROTO 6 as part of the Georgian Training Team. In November 2017, First Lieutenant St. John returned to AT TOW Company and again served as Weapons Platoon Commander.
In March 2021, Captain St. John reported to Weapons Company, 3d Battalion 23d Marines in Springfield, Missouri where he assumed the role of CAAT Platoon Commander. In September 2021, he advanced to 81mm Mortar Platoon Commander and completed Advanced Mortarman Course. And in April 2023, he assumed the role of Weapons Company Executive Officer.
In April 2024, Captain St. John took command to Golf Company, 2d Battalion 23d Marines in Seal Beach, California where he served as Company Commander. From November 2024 to October 2025, He activated and deployed with the Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa, Japan as Golf Company Commander with 2d Battalion 23d Marines.
His personal military awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
