Biography

 

Major Brent C. Jacobs
Inspector-Instructor
Echo Company, 2d Battalion, 23d Marine Regiment

Major Brent C. Jacobs is native of San Diego, California. In 2012, he graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and Economics, and shortly thereafter commissioned through the Officer Candidates Course.  Upon graduation from The Basic School and Infantry Officer's Course, he received orders to Second Battalion, Fourth Marines (V24), Fifth Marine Regiment, Camp Pendleton, California. 
 
From February 2014 to May 2017 while serving in V24, Major Jacobs deployed twice in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).  Patrol 15.1 as a Rifle Platoon Commander and Patrol 16.2 as an Executive Officer.  
 
In May of 2017, Major Jacobs checked into Marine Corps Security Force Regiment, Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team , Company C, Yorktown, Virginia.  From March to September 2018, Major Jacobs deployed in support of the United States Navy Central Command's contingency efforts, located aboard Naval Support Activity Bahrain.  Upon his return, his unit provided fixed site security at the Newport News Shipyard as the United States Ship George Washington (CVN-73) executed Nuclear Refuel and De-fuel operations.  Following the completion of the mission, Major Jacobs transitioned billets and became the Company C Executive Officer.  

In July 2020, Major Jacobs reported to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California, and assumed his post as the Commander for Company B.  From July to October 2020, the Battalion deployed in support of the SPMAGTF- Customs and Border Protection with his Company (rein) being responsible for the San Diego sector.  Subsequently, from November 2021 through May 2022, Major Jacobs once again deployed in support of the 31st MEU, Patrol 22.1. 
 
In July 2022, Major Jacobs was assigned to 2d Battalion, 23d Marine Regiment, and is serving as the Inspector-Instructor for Company E, located in San Bruno, California.    
 
Major Jacobs' personal awards include: The Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with gold star in lieu of second award).
