Major Linda Wild is a native of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and immigrated to the United States at the age of nine. She was raised in Orange County, California, where she developed an early interest in military service through active participation in the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) during high school. In 2002, she enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve. From 2004 to 2008, following basic training, she served as I MEF G-1 Administrative Clerk with deployments to Kuwait, Iraq, and Germany in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In October 2009, then-Sergeant Wild attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in December 2009. She subsequently completed The Basic School and attended the Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School to receive her Military Occupational Specialty (MOS 0602). In June 2011, she reported to Marine Wing Communications Squadron 48 (MWCS-48) in Great Lakes, Illinois, serving as both Transmission and Data Platoon Commander.
In July 2012, First Lieutenant Wild was assigned to 4th Marine Division G-1 in New Orleans, Louisiana, as the Manpower Officer. In August 2013, she deployed to the Republic of Georgia with the Georgia Deployment Program – International Security Assistance Force (GDP-ISAF), where she served as Communications Advisor for the Georgian Ranger Battalion in preparation for their deployment to Afghanistan.
Captain Wild was selected for the Active Reserve (AR) program in May 2014 and assigned to 4th Marine Logistics Group Headquarters in New Orleans, LA as the G-6 Operations Officer. In January 2017, she reported to U.S. Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command (MARFORCYBER) as the Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) Operational Sponsor. In this role, she led the MARFORCYBER IMA Detachment, managed global sourcing of activation orders, and was instrumental in establishing the Marine Corps Reserve Cyber Team.
In August 2020, Major Wild assumed duties at Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, Manpower and Reserve Affairs, serving as a Policy Analyst. Her responsibilities included the development, implementation, and management of workforce policies and procedures impacting the Marine Corps Reserve.
In July 2021, Major Wild was selected by the Reserve Professional Military Education (RPME) board to attend the Marine Corps Command and Staff College (CSC) as a student for the academic year 2021–2022. Upon graduation, she was assigned to the Marine and Family Program Division, where she served as the Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) Operational Sponsor for the Marine for Life IMA Detachment.
In July 2024, Major Wild received orders to Reserve Support Activity–Quantico (RSA-Q), Camp Upshur. In her current role as Director/Officer in Charge, she oversees multi-million-dollar infrastructure and training facilities, providing critical logistical and operational support to non-tenant Reserve units.
Major Wild holds a Master of Military Studies (MMS) from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from DeVry University, and a Master of Professional Studies in Real Estate (MPSRE) from Georgetown University.
Her personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars.
