Linda Wild is a native of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and immigrated to the United States when she was nine. She grew up in Orange County, California. While in high school, she passionately participated in the Marine Corps JROTC program, which led her to the decision to enlist in the Marine Corps Reserve in 2002. After completing her basic training, from 2004 to 2008, she was actively deployed to Kuwait, Iraq, and Germany in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as an Administrative Clerk.
In October 2009, Sergeant Wild reported to Officer Candidate School (OCS) and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in December 2009. After OCS, Second Lieutenant Wild transferred to The Basic School, followed by the Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School for her military occupational specialty (MOS). In June 2011, Second Lieutenant Wild received orders to Marine Wing Communications Squadron-48 (MWCS-48) in Great Lakes, Illinois, as the Transmission Platoon and Data Platoon Commander. In July 2012, First Lieutenant Wild transferred to 4th Marine Division G-1 in New Orleans, Louisiana, as the Manpower Officer. In August 2013, First Lieutenant Wild deployed with Georgia Deployment Program - International Security Assistance Forces (GDP-ISAF), Georgia Training Team-12 to the Republic of Georgia as the Communications Advisor to prepare the Georgian Ranger Battalion for deployment to Afghanistan.
In May 2014, Captain Wild was selected for the Active Reserve (AR) program and received orders to the 4th Marine Logistics Group Headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana, as the G-6 Operations Officer. In January 2017, Captain Wild reported to U.S. Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command as the Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) Operational Sponsor. Major Wild managed the MARFORCYBER IMA Det and was responsible for globally sourcing voluntary requests of activation orders and establishing the Marine Corps Reserve Cyber Team. In August 2020, Major Wild reported to HQ USMC Manpower and Reserve Affairs as a Policy Analyst. Her role was to develop, promulgate, and manage workforce policies, procedures, and guidance about the Marine Corps Reserve.
In July 2021, Major Wild reported to Command and Staff College (CSC) as a student for the academic year 2021-2022. After completing CSC, Major reported to the Marine and Family Program Division as the IMA Operational Sponsor for Marine for Life IMA Det. In July 2024, Major Wild received PCA orders to Reserve Support Activity-Quantico, Camp Upshur. Her current assignment is as the Director/OIC of Camp Upshur.
Major Linda Wild holds a Master of Military Study from Marine Corps Command and Staff, a Master's in Business Administration from DeVry University, and a Master's in Real Estate from Georgetown University. Major Wild's awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold stars.
