Gunnery Sergeant Christopher B. Rogers
Operations Chief
Reserve Support Activity-Quantico

Christopher B. Rogers is a native of Starkville, Mississippi, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in December 2005. He attended Recruit Training aboard Parris Island, South Carolina, and graduated in April 2006 from Delta Company Platoon 1026. In May 2006, GySgt Rogers reported to the Infantry Training Battalion at The School of Infantry East. After completing the Basic Rifleman Course at the Infantry Training Battalion, Private Rogers reported to the 2nd Battalion 6th Marines Golf Company. He was assigned to the 2nd Platoon 3rd squad as a Rifleman. His duty as a Rifleman included being the Squad’s point man. He would navigate the team through terrain and sweep the area for improvised explosive devices. He earned the rank of Private First Class before his first deployment to Fallujah, Iraq, in March 2007. During this deployment, he Completed approximately 50 combat patrols.

After returning from his first deployment, he earned the billet of Team Leader and the rank of Lance Corporal. His duties included leading four Marines in Garrison Field operations. In July 2009, LCpl Rogers deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. During this deployment, Lance Corporal Rogers ensured his team would stay current with all training and maintain the discipline necessary to accomplish daily tasks. After completing the 26th MEU deployment in December 2009, his two subsequent deployments to Marjah, Afghanistan, in 2010 and Trek Nawa, Afghanistan, in 2011 as the Squad Leader. In January 2010, LCpl Rogers was promoted to Corporal and promoted to Sergeant in July 2011. He led Marines and Afghanistan Police while deployed to Afghanistan. Sergeant Rogers conducted approximately 90 combat patrols during these two deployments to Afghanistan.

Returning from Afghanistan, Sergeant Rogers received orders to join Infantry Training Battalion West as a Combat Instructor. His task included maintaining order and discipline of up to 100 new Marines. He taught them the Basics of Infantry and ensured that the new Marines held a high standard of physical fitness. After four cycles as a Combat Instructor, Sergeant Rogers transferred to the Schools Instructor Group. He was responsible for the 0300 primary Infantry curriculum. He was ensuring that the new Marines understood all the basic Infantry skills necessary to be assigned to the fleet Marine Corps. Sergeant Rogers completed his tour as a Combat Instructor in January 2016. He received orders from the 2nd Bn 5th Marines as a Platoon Sergeant, Echo Company, and 3rd platoon.

Sergeant Rogers was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in October 2016. In May 2016, he was deployed to Okinawa, Japan, on the 21st Marine Expeditionary Unit. While on deployment, he ensured that approximately 30 Marines stayed combat-ready and could deploy at a moment’s notice. Returning from this deployment, he took over the Battalion's Combined Anti-Armor Platoon. He completed an entire work-up but received orders to return to school before the next deployment.

In April 2018, Staff Sergeant Rogers reported to Basic Recruiter School. After completing the school, he was assigned to Recruiting Station Montgomery. He was a canvassing recruiter for the substation of Dothan, Alabama. While executing recruiting duties, the Staff Sergeant earned several personal awards.

 In June 2021, Staff Sergeant Rogers executed orders to the Chemical Biological Incident Response Force in Indian Head, Maryland, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Command. He served as the Platoon Sergeant for the CBRN B Platoon. In January 2022, Staff Sergeant Rogers moved to the Rescue Platoon to finish his tour at CBIRF as the Platoon Sergeant. Upon completing his time at CBIRF, SSgt Rogers would receive orders to Reserve Support Activity-Quantico (RSU-Q) in Camp Upshur, Virginia. Staff Sergeant Rogers was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in May of 2025. While at RSU-Q, he performed the duties of the Operations Chief and Senior Enlisted Advisor. His roles included coordinating with all Reserve units that wanted to train aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico.

Gunnery Sergeant Rogers achieved his bachelor’s degree at Troy University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in management, with a concentration in Project Management, at Troy University. He has received 2 Combat Action Ribbons, 5 Marine and Navy Achievement Medals, an Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various other Service and Campaign Medals.
