Biography

 

Captain Justin M. Dalton
Company Commander
Bravo Co., 4th Combat Engineer Battalion

Captain Justin Dalton is from Stafford, Virginia. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps Reserve on November 19, 2016.
 
Upon completing The Basic School at Camp Barrett, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Second Lieutenant Dalton reported to the Combat Engineer Officer's Course at Courthouse Bay, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
 
In June 2018,  Second Lieutenant Dalton checked in to Company B, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion in Roanoke, Virginia. The following month, he reported to 2d Combat Engineer Battalion for his professional development tour, where he was promoted to first lieutenant in November 2018. During his time at 2d Combat Engineer Battalion, First Lieutenant Dalton served as the Assistant Operations Officer.
 
In July 2019, First Lieutenant Dalton returned to Company B, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion to serve as a platoon commander for the next year and a half. 
 
In January 2021, First Lieutenant Dalton was promoted to the rank of Captain. Captain Dalton continued serving at Company B as the Company Executive Officer until May of 2022. 
 
In May 2022, Captain Dalton transitioned to the Individual Ready Reserve. He rejoined the Selected Marine Corps Reserve in December 2024 and took command of Company B, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion in January 2025.
 
Captain Dalton holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Business from the Virginia Military Institute, class of 2013. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with a gold star in lieu of a second award).
