Captain Douglas G. Wainwright
INSPECTOR - INSTRUCTOR
Delta Co., 4th Combat Engineer Battalion

Captain Douglas Wainwright is a native of New Jersey. In June 2018, he commissioned in the United States Marine Corps via the
Naval ROTC program following graduation from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA with a bachelor of arts degree in economics.
He reported to The Basic School in the fall of 2018. In February 2020, following entry level training as a combat engineer officer, he
reported to Headquarters and Services Company, 4th Marine Regiment in Okinawa, Japan and assumed duties as the engineer support
platoon commander where he lead and participated in unit-level and service-level training exercises in Japan and the United States. In
September 2021, Capt Wainwright was assigned to the G-3 operations division at 3d Marine Logistics Group where he served in the
current operations section and participated in theater security cooperation exercises in Japan, the Philippines, and the Republic of
Korea. From June 2022 to January 2023, Capt Wainwright served as the Marine Forces Pacific liaison officer to the Joint United States
Military Assistance Group-Philippines where he directly enabled bilateral training throughout the country and supported several VIP
visits. In July 2023, Capt Wainwright reported to Delta Company, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion in Knoxville, TN for duties as
company Inspector-Instructor.
