Captain Christian D. Castilla
Commanding Officer
Weapons Co, 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment

Capt Castilla is a native of Columbus, Ohio. He attended high school in Dublin, Ohio and earned his Bachelor of Science
in Political Science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

In January 2014, Capt Castilla reported to Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia and earned his commission in March 2014.
He reported to The Basic School the same month with Basic Officer Course 3-14 and, upon graduation, attended Infantry Officer
Course 1-15.

Upon earning the 0302 MOS, Capt Castilla was assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Marines. Shortly after assignment, Capt Castilla was
deployed to Al Asad Air Base in support of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Central Command
16.1 as the Watch Officer for Task Force Al Asad from October 2015 to April 2016. Upon redeployment, Capt Castilla served as
Platoon Commander, Combined Anti-Armor Team Red from May 2016 to April 2018. During this time, Capt Castilla again deployed
to Al Asad Air Base, Iraq in support of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Central Command 17.2 as
the Security Force for Task Force Al Asad.

In June 2018, Capt Castilla received orders to Marine Combat Training Battalion, School of Infantry (West) where he served as
Company Commander, Company H from July 2018 to July 2019 and Battalion Operations Officer from July 2019 to July 2020. Capt
Castilla ended active service in July 2020.
