Major David W. Del Toro
Inspector - Instructor
Personnel Retrieval and Processing Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 45

Major del Toro currently serves as the Inspector-Instructor at Site Support Smyrna, GA, Combat Logistics Regiment 45, 4th Marine Logistics Group, Marine Forces Reserve. He attended Colorado State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007 with a major in Sociology. He then commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and attended The Basic School in 2008. 

In March 2009, Second Lieutenant del Toro completed the Air Support Control Officer’s Course, and thereafter reported to Marine Air Support Squadron 1. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2009, serving as a Tactical Air Director/ Helicopter Director, and later as the OIC of the Air Support Liaison Team to Regimental Combat Teams 3 and 7. He promoted to First Lieutenant soon after returning from this deployment. In January 2011, First Lieutenant del Toro again deployed to Afghanistan, this time serving as the Senior Air Director, and later as the OIC of the Air Support Liaison Team to the 16th Air Assault Brigade of the British Army. 

In September 2012, First Lieutenant del Toro transitioned to the Selected Marine Corps Reserve, joining Combat Logistics Battalion 453 and promoting to Captain. There he served as the Operations Officer until September 2013, when he mobilized in support of CENTCOM Security Cooperation Team 14.2. His Marine Engagement Team deployed to Jordan as a part of SPMAGTF-CR-CENT, where they instructed infantry tactics to soldiers of the Jordanian Armed Forces Quick Reaction Force.  

In October 2015, Captain del Toro was accepted into the Active Reserve program, and executed orders to Intelligence Support Battalion in New Orleans, LA. There he served as the first S-4/Supply officer in the Battalion’s history, managing all aspects of logistics amongst the Battalion’s 18 geographic locations spread across 11 states. 

In June 2019, Captain del Toro executed orders to Site Support Tacoma, WA promoting to Major soon after arrival, and serving as the Site Support Executive Officer. There, he supported Combat Logistics Battalion 23 through the management of the Inspector-Instructor staff, spread across four geographic locations in three states. 

In June 2021, Major del Toro reported to the US Army’s Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, KS, earning a Master of Operational Studies degree. Upon graduation in June 2022, he assumed his current billet. 

In addition to his aforementioned education, Major del Toro holds a Master of Criminal Justice degree from the University of Colorado. His additional military education consists of the Logistics Officer’s Course, the Global Training and Advising Course, the Expeditionary Anti-Terrorism Officer’s course, the Watch Officer’s course, Total Force Integration Staff Training, Expeditionary Warfare School, the Basic Airborne course, and Advanced Total Force Integration Staff Training. He holds the 7208, 0402, 0571 and 8023 MOS’, and is also a badged and credentialed Protection Specialist within Marine Forces Reserve’s Protection Division. 

Major del Toro’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and the SMCR Medal.
