Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin L. Brewster
Inspector - Instructor
25th Marine Regiment

Lieutenant Colonel Brewster is a native of Maryland and attended Norwich University, as a member of the Corps of Cadets. He studied history and graduated with a NROTC commission in 2006. 

In 2007 he reported for duty with 2d Battalion, 7th Marines and served as a Rifle Platoon Commander in Afghanistan in 2008.  He then served as the Company Executive Officer in 2009.  He transferred in 2010 to 7th Marine Regiment where he commanded the Headquarters Company.  In 2011 he deployed again to Afghanistan as the Assistant Operations Officer for 3d Battalion, 4th Marines.

From 2012-2014 he worked as a Maneuver Experiment Project Officer at the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab in Quantico.  From 2015-2016 he was the Aide-de-camp for MCWL’s Commanding General.  During the 2016-2017 academic year he attended Expeditionary Warfare School and then served as a Platoon Commander at Officer Candidates School.   

In 2017 he assumed command of Company K, 3d Battalion, 4th Marines in 29 Palms.  In 2018 he led Kilo Company on deployment with Special Purpose MAGTF Crisis Response Central Command in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE in Iraq.  

In 2019 he was selected for the Advanced Degree Program and began graduate school at Texas A&M University.  From 2021 to 2023 he taught history and leadership at the US Naval Academy.  In 2024 and 2025 he was the Executive Officer of 1st Battalion, 6th Marines in Camp Lejeune.  

He assumed the duties as the Regimental Inspector – Instructor for 25th Marines at Fort Devens, MA in July of 2025.

He is a graduate of resident EWS and non-res Command and Staff College.  He holds a BA in history from Norwich University, a MDiv in Chaplaincy from Liberty University, and a PhD in history from Texas A&M University.
