Major Patrick D. Halsey
Executive Officer
6th Distribution Support Battalion

Major Patrick D. Halsey attended Waldorf University in Forest City, Iowa from 2007 to 2010 where he received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and History along with a minor in Humanities. In 2012, he was selected to attend the United States Marine Corps’ Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on August 10, 2012.

Following Logistics Officers Course in August 2013, Second Lieutenant Halsey reported to CLR-4, 4th Marine Logistics Group, Kansas City, Missouri. He served on a variety of billets within the Regimental staff from CBRN Platoon Commander, Assistant Current Operations Officer, and Logistics Officer for the multi-national exercise African Lion in Morocco in 2016.

Captain Halsey deployed as the Logistics Officer of the Georgian Training Team, Georgian Deployment Program, in February 2017. While deployed Captain Halsey served as the logistics training advisor to the Georgian 31st Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) overseeing training and logistical support to the 31st LIB in preparation for their deployment to Afghanistan.

In 2018 Captain Halsey deployed with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Southern Command 18 (SPMAGTF-SC 18). As the Liaison Officer to the Security Cooperation Office United States Embassy Belmopan, Belize; Captain Halsey planned, coordinated, and oversaw the execution of several courses of action integrating the Belize Defense Force personnel with SPMAGTF-SC 18 personnel and U.S. Naval assets offshore during Operation King Griffin.

In April 2019 Captain Halsey reported to Detachment 1 Motor Transportation Company Texarkana, TX. Throughout his time as Detachment OIC Captain Halsey created training plans and participated in one service level exercise at Mountain Training Exercise 3-19 and one company level exercise STEEL HORSE, 2020.

Captain Halsey took command of Motor Transport Company, CLB453 in August of 2020. He continued to oversee the administration and management of training, operations, and planning at the Company, Battalion, and Regimental levels. Captain Halsey completed his Company Command tour in September of 2022 and enrolled in Command and Staff that same month.

Upon promotion in June of 2023, Major Halsey was selected as the Executive Officer for CLB453 where he served until February 2025. Major Halsey completed Command and Staff in May of 2024.

Major Halsey most recently mobilization to Kuwait, March to August 2025, in support of Operation Inherent Resolve as the Joint Logistics Operation Center Chief (CJ4) overseeing all current logistical operations and sustainment across the OIR area of operations. While deployed Major Halsey was requested by Regimental command leadership to be the initial Executive Office of 6th Distribution Support Battalion.

Major Halsey’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and the Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal (1x Gold Star) and numerous service awards.
