A native of Los Angeles, CA, Sergeant Major Bedran enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, in 1995, at the age of 18. After completing recruit training at MCRD San Diego and combat training at MCB Camp Pendleton, he was shipped to Camp Johnson, Camp Lejuene where he completed his MOS training as an Administrative Clerk. Upon completion of MOS school, PFC Bedran was assigned to H&S BN MCRD Parris Island, SC. In 1997, Sergeant Major Bedran received orders to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, aboard 29 Palms, CA.
 
While assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, he served in numerous billets, including Administrative Chief and Platoon Sergeant and experienced a UDP to Okinawa Japan before being released from active duty as a Corporal in December 1999. After a brief period in the Individual Ready Reserves, Sergeant Major Bedran joined H&S Company, 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines in Encino, CA.
 
In 2002, Sergeant Major Bedran was recalled to active duty alongside the entire battalion in response to the 9/11 terror attacks. While on active duty, he was meritoriously promoted to Sergeant and served as a platoon sergeant in addition to his administrative responsibilities. In 2003, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and served as a liaison at Camp Commando, Kuwait during the initial phases of the war. Sergeant Major Bedran and a cadre of H&S marines were instrumental in maintain nearly 100% accuracy of all casualties on the battlefield. In 2004, Sergeant Major Bedran was once again released from active duty and continued to serve in the same capacity as a drilling reservist.
 
In 2006, Sergeant Major Bedran assumed to the billet of Company Gunnery Sergeant until his departure from H&S in 2008. Sergeant Major Bedran became an Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) at Mobilization Training Battalion (MTB), Camp Pendleton, CA, and worked on active duty. While assigned to MTB, Sergeant Major Bedran graduated Combat Instructor Course and earned the additional MOS 0913. As a Combat Instructor, Sergeant Major Bedran was assigned to a mobile cadre training team that was responsible for delivering Combat Hunter Training in a multitude of training areas for both active duty and reserve components. Sergeant Major Bedran was then transferred to Deployment Processing Command West as the Operations Chief and remained on active duty until 2013. In 2014, Sergeant Major Bedran was released from active duty once again and was later selected for First Sergeant.
 
In 2014, Sergeant Major Bedran was assigned Alpha Company, Counter Intelligence / Human Intelligence, Intelligence Support Battalion (ISB), Miramar, CA. In 2016, he was transferred to H&S Company, ISB, Mobile, AL. In 2018, Sergeant Major Bedran was transferred to Bravo Company, 4th Tank Battalion, Yakima, WA. In 2019, he was selected to Sergeant Major and was assigned as the Sergeant Major for 6th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Co (ANGLICO) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
 
Sergeant Major Bedran's personal decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, and a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of second award.
 
He is currently employed at the Department of Veterans Affairs as an Administrative Officer at the VA Greater Los Angeles. Sergeant Major Bedran holds a Master's degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor's degree Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology.
