Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin A. Price

Lieutenant Colonel Price was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps in 2006 after graduating University of Maryland, College Park with a B.A. in History. After completing The Basic School and flight training, First Lieutenant Price was designated a Naval Aviator in January of 2009.

Upon completion of the Fleet Replacement Squadron, First Lieutenant Price was assigned to HMLA-167 for follow on training in the AH-1W. While at HMLA-167, First Lieutenant, then Captain, Price served in a variety of squadron leadership billets in the Logistics, Department of Safety and Standardization and Operations departments as well as a MAG FLSE. He also graduated from WTI 2-13 and deployed twice: once on the 22nd MEU with VMM-263 and once with HMLA-167 to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan ISO OEF 13.1-13.2. During his last deployment with HMLA-167, Captain Price was selected for HMX-1.

From 2014-2018, Captain, then Major, Price served in Logistics, Facilities and White House Liaison Office (WHLO) billets. In his fourth year, Major Price served as the Director of the WHLO department. While at HMX-1, Major Price transitioned to both the VH-60N and the VH-3D and served as an aircraft commander for both the President and Vice President of the United States.

In September of 2018, Major Price transitioned from Active Duty to the Active Reserve (board selected in October 2017). He joined HMLA-775 in October of 2018 and served as the Assistant Operations Officer, Operations Officer, Director of Safety and Standardization and Executive Officer. He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in May 2021, took over as the Aircrew Programs Section Head and Reserve Integrator at HQMC Aviation and was selected for Command. In June of 2023 he assumed command of Detachment Bravo, MAG-41 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

His personal awards include two Meritorious Service Medals, one Air Medal Individual Action, one Air Medal with strike/flight numeral 5, the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
