Major Crockett commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in March, 2012, after completing Officer Candidate's School in Quantico, VA. Following a short stint working at the Officer Selection Office in Berkeley, CA, he returned to Quantico to attend The Basic School,
graduating in December, 2012.
In 2013, 2ndLt Crockett was assigned to Battery E, 2d Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, and served as a Platoon Commander. Following the completion of ITX, 2014, the newly promoted 1stLt Crockett received orders to Company F, 2d Battalion, 9th Marines to
serve as a Fire Support Officer.
While a part of 2/9, he deployed to Camp Hanson, Okinawa, as part of a Unit Deployment Program. Company F supported exercises in Okinawa, mainland Japan, the Philippines, and Korea. After returning to Camp Lejeune in, 2015, he departed from active duty and began his first stint with Battery P, 5th Battalion, 14th Marines, in Spokane, WA.
At Battery P, he served as the Liaison Officer and Headquarters Platoon Commander. He was promoted to Captain in May, 2016. In September of 2016, he transferred to 6th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO), at JBLM, WA, and was assigned to be the Fire Support Coordinator for SALT D, which was preparing to deploy to Afghanistan.
He deployed with the SALT D, to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, as part of the Georgia Liaison Team (GLT). The GLT was tasked with advising elements of the Georgian army and patrolling the towns and villages surrounding the airfield with them. Additionally, they performed other functions ranging from securing the airfield, training Afghan soldiers, and partnering with the Czechs. Upon re-deployment, Captain Crockett was sent to Tactical Air Control Party school in Coronado, CA. After graduating, he earned the secondary MOS as a Joint Tactical Air Controller (JTAC).
During his time with 6th ANGLICO, he served as a Firepower Control Team (FCT) leader, Supporting Arms Liaison Team (SALT) leader, and Assistant Operations Officer.
In the fall of 2021, he transferred back to 5th Battalion, 14th Marines, and for the next year, performed the roles of Battalion S-3A and Battalion FDO.
In October 2022, he received orders to Battery P, now located in Yakima Training Center, WA, to serve as the Battery Executive Officer. In December 2022, he was promoted to his current rank of Major. In June he took over as the Battery Commander. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
