First Sergeant Cody T. Romriell
Inspector-Instructor Unit Senior Enlisted Leader
Battery P, 5th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment

First Sergeant Romriell enlisted in the Marine Corps on 17 November 2005. He reported to 1st Recruit Training Battalion in, San Diego, California on 14 February 2006. After graduating recruit training he attended School of Infantry, West, Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Pendleton, California.  Following completion of MCT he attended Military Occupational Specialty School School at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for Basic Combat Engineer.
 
In July 2006, He received orders to 8th Engineer Support Battalion (ESB) where he served as a Basic Engineer. In September of 2006 he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal. In November of 2006 he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom to Al Taqaddum, Iraq were he served as a Basic Combat Engineer and vehicle gunner. In June 2007 while Iraq in was Combat Meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal. 

In June 2008, He received orders to 2d Combat Logistics Battalion where he was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom to Al Asad, Iraq and served as a lead Vehicle commander and security Commander for a Security team. In February 2009 was Combat Meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

In March 2009, he received orders to 8th ESB, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he was licensing instructor on the CFM 250 Chain saw the 260 and Zodaic and the MK III BEB. In October he became a Marine Corps Martial Art Program instructor. In November 2009 received orders 9th ESB in Okinawa, Japan.

In April 2010, he received orders to Combat Assault Battalion where he deployed to Marjah, Afghanistan in support Operation Enduring Freedom in  support of Echo 2/9 half way through the deployment was redeployed to Sangin, Afghanistan to reinforce 3/5 upon completion of deployment in February 2011 received orders back to 9th ESB. In March 2011 redeployed to Operation Enduring Freedom in Camp leatherneck, Afghanistan. In June he was Combat Meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He received orders to Drill Instructor School class 1-13, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Upon graduating, he was assigned to 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Company C, where he served a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Chief Drill Instructor. 

In February 2016, he received orders to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion. In April 2016 he deployed to Australia in support of the Marine Rotational Forces-Darw with 1/1 Weapons Company.  November 1 he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant.  September 4 he deployed to Kuwait with 3/7 on the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force 18.2. Upon returning, he attended Advice course and received orders to Marine Corps Engineer School.

In March 2019, he checked into Marine Corps Engineer School and served as a Demolition Instructor. He was selected to 1stSgt in Dececember of 2019 and received orders to 1st Battalion 10th Marines in June of 2020. He was assigned to India Battery as the Battery 1stSgt. In February 2021 he deployed on a Unit Deployment Program 21.1 to Camp Hanson, Okinawa, Japan in support of 3d Battalion, 12th Marines. 

In March 2022,  he checked in to Battery P, 5th Battalion 14th Marines and assumed the duties as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant.

His personal decorations include the (2) Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat V, (3) Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon.
