Captain Christian J. Brown
Commanding Officer
Kilo Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment

Captain Brown is the Battery Commander of Kilo Battery, 2d Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment.

He reported to Officer Candidate School aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico on 20 September 2015 and was assigned to 6th Platoon, Charlie Company. He graduated and commission as a Second Lieutenant on 24 November 2015. On 5 January 2016, Second Lieutenant Brown reported to The Basic School aboard Camp Barrett. Following graduation from The Basic School, he reported to Fort Sill, Oklahoma for Field Artillery Basic Officer Leadership Course. Upon completion, Second Lieutenant Brown completed the Joint Fires Observer Course and reported to Oscar Battery, 5th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment aboard Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach on 22 November 2016.

Second Lieutenant Brown was ordered to 2nd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune for a one-year active duty experience tour. While joined to Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines, Second Lieutenant Brown served as the Battery Executive Officer until 9 October 2017 when he was deployed as an individual augment as the Strike Cell Battle Major and Deputy Fire Support Officer with the Current Fires Strike Cell with Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve aboard Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. While deployed, he was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant. Upon completion of the tour, First Lieutenant Brown returned to Oscar Battery, 5th Battalion, 14th Marines on 6 June 2018. While with Oscar Battery, First Lieutenant Brown served as the Guns Platoon Commander in garrison and Fire Support Officer during field exercises. In November of 2019, First Lieutenant Brown completed an Inter-unit Transfer to Kilo Battery, 2d Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment. On Janurary 1, 2020, he was promoted to Captain. While joined to Kilo Battery, Captain Brown served as First Platoon Commander until the completion of Kilo Battery's Annual Training 2020. Following Annual Training 2020, Captain Brown assumed the billet of Battery Executive Officer until mobilized in December of 2021 to serve as the Officer in Charge, HIMARS Detachment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Following de-mobilization from the 24th MEU, Captain Brown resumed the Executive Officer billet with Battery K. In August of 2023, he Inter-Unit Transferred to HQ Battery, 2d Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment to serve as the HIMARS Planner/S-3a. On August 11, 2024, Captain Brown assumed command of Battery K, 2d Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment.

Captain Brown earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Cum Laude) while attending Arizona State University in the Spring of 2015. Captain Brown's personal awards include the Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. He he works as a NASA contractor as a Experimental Spacecraft Systems Engineer specializing in mechanical subsystems. He is currently working on his Master's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
