Sergeant Major Jerami R. Surratt
Sergeant Major
4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion

Sergeant Major Surratt completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California on January 15, 1999 and was
promoted to Private First Class. Following recruit training Private First Class Surratt attended Marine Combat Training at Camp
Pendleton, CA and completed Basic Landing Support Specialist Course at Courthouse Bay, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Private First Class Surratt reported to 1st Beach and Terminal Operations Company A(-)(REIN), 4th Landing Support Battalion, 4th
Marine Logistics Group, San Jose, California in April 1999. From February 2003 to May 2004 Corporal Surratt was mobilized in
support of Operation Enduring Freedom and assigned to Combat Service Support Company 147, 1st Headquarters and Service
Battalion, 1st Force Service Support Group, Camp Pendleton, California. During that time, Corporal Surratt attended and graduated
from Combat Marksmanship Instructor Course and Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor Course; he also graduated from Corporal
Leadership Course as the Class Commander. Corporal Surratt was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant on February 2, 2004.

In January 2005, Sergeant Surratt was mobilized in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and deployed to Ali Al Salem, Kuwait assigned
as Platoon Sergeant for Landing Support Platoon, Headquarters Company, Combat Logistics Regiment-15, 1st Marine Logistics Group
Forward. Sergeant Surratt returned to 1st Beach and Terminal Operations Company in September 2005. Sergeant Surratt deployed
from January 2006 to August 2006, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom to Al Taquddum, Iraq and served as the Platoon Sergeant,
Transportation Support Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 15 Forward, 1st Marine Logistics Group Forward. Sergeant Surratt was
promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant on November 1, 2006.

Staff Sergeant deployed again from January 2007 to August 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he served as the
Detachment Staff Noncommissioned Officer In Charge, Landing Support Detachment, 2nd Maintenance Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistic
Group Forward at Kuwait City International Airport. At the end of his tour, Staff Sergeant Surratt returned to 1st Beach and 
Terminal Operations Company in San Jose, California where he served as the Platoon Sergeant for the Landing Support Platoon. 
Staff Sergeant Surratt deployed to Iraq with Combat Logistics Battalion 46, Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2nd Marine Logistics 
Group from August 2009 to February 2010. He was assigned as the unit Movement Control Chief in Al Asad, Iraq. In February 2010 
he was transferred to an Embedded Partnership Team, training with the 215th Afghanistan National Army Corps in Afghanistan.

In March 2010, Staff Sergeant Surratt returned from his deployment and returned to 1st Beach and Terminal Operations Company,
where he served as the Company Training Chief. Staff Sergeant Surratt was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant on November 1, 2011.
Gunnery Sergeant Surratt deployed in support of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Africa from May 2012 to February
2014 and served as the Logistics Chief stationed at Sigonella, Sicily. Gunnery Sergeant Surratt served as the Company Gunnery
Sergeant for Headquarters Service Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 23 from April 2014 to April 2015.

Gunnery Sergeant Surratt was promoted to First Sergeant in April, 2015 and checked into Transportation Service Company, Combat
Logistics Battalion 23 as the Company First Sergeant. First Sergeant Surratt deployed as the Logistic Combat Element Senior Enlisted
Advisor with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Southern Command from March 2018 to April 2019 stationed at Soto
Cano Air Base, Honduras.

In October 2019, First Sergeant Surratt was assigned as the Company First Sergeant, Headquarters and Service Company, 4th Tank
Battalion, 4th Marine Division where he served until he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major on July 1, 2020. Sergeant Major
Surratt is currently assigned as the Battalion Sergeant Major, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division.
Sergeant Major Surratt's personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal with two gold stars and the Navy and Marine Corps
Achievement Medal with three gold stars.
