Colonel Conant was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 2000 and began his career as a Logistics Officer.
Upon completion of The Basic School and The Basic Logistics Officer Course in 2001, he was assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Transportation Support Battalion aboard Camp Pendleton, CA where he served as a Motor Transportation Platoon Commander. First Lieutenant Conant deployed as the Operations Officer for Combat Service Support Company-115 in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM-I and again as the Executive Officer, Combat Service Support Company-117 in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM-II. Captain Conant then assumed company command of Combat Service Support Company-117.
In 2005, Captain Conant reported to The Basic School aboard Quantico, VA. During this tour, he served as a Warfighting Instructor, Staff Platoon Commander for two Basic Officer Courses and one Warrant Officer Basic Course, and as the Instructor Educator. Upon completion of this tour in 2008, Captain Conant transitioned from the Active Component to the Reserve Component.
In 2009, Captain Conant affiliated with 4th Amphibious Assault Battalion in Tampa, FL where he served as the Battalion S-4. He subsequently joined United States Central Command as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee, where he was mobilized to serve as the Joint Transportation Officer, Mobility Division, J-4 Directorate.
In 2010, Captain Conant was accepted to the Active Reserve Program where he was subsequently assigned to Inspector-Instructor duty, Marine Air Support Squadron-6 (MASS-6) located aboard Joint Base Westover located in Chicopee, MA. Major Conant completed a deployment during this tour as the G-4 Plans and Maritime Prepositioned Force Officer, Marine Corps Forces Central Command (Forward) located aboard Naval Support Activity Bahrain.
In 2013, Major Conant transferred to the Naval War College aboard Newport, RI where he attended the College of Naval Command and Staff, earning a Master of National Security and Strategic Studies Degree.
In 2014, he was assigned to Headquarters Marine Corps, Reserve Affairs Division under the Deputy Commandant for Manpower and Reserve Affairs. During this tour, Major Conant served within Reserve Affairs Personnel Policy Branch and Reserve Affairs Personnel Management Branch.
In 2017, Lieutenant Colonel Conant was selected to serve as the Inspector-Instructor for 3D Civil Affairs Group Great Lakes, IL. He relinquished command in 2019 and was transferred to the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, PA where he graduated with distinction while earning a Master of Strategic Studies Degree.
In 2020, Lieutenant Colonel Conant then transferred to Marine Forces Reserve in New Orleans, LA where he served as the Operations Officer for 4th Marine Logistics Group. In 2022, Colonel Conant was assigned to serve as the Force Headquarters Group Assistant Chief of Staff, G-3/5 and then subsequently assigned to serve as the Chief of Staff for the Force Headquarters Group until May 2024.
Colonel Conant holds a Master of National Security and Strategic Studies Degree from the College of Naval Command and Staff and a Master of Strategic Studies Degree (Distinguished Graduate) from U.S. Army War College. Colonel Conant’s personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with three gold stars, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
