1st Sergeant Anderson enlisted into the Marine Corps on 04 March 2009 and completed Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Paris Island, South Carolina. After completion of Boot Camp 1st Sergeant Anderson reported to Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry, Camp Geiger, North Carolina. 1st Sergeant Anderson then reported to the Assault Amphibian School in Camp Pendleton, California where he earned the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) Amphibious Assault Vehicle Crewman (1833).
1st Sergeant Anderson reported 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in November 2009 where he was assigned to Headquarters & Support Company (MCM) Platoon. (2010) 1st Sergeant Anderson attached to 2/2 in support of South America Partnership Deployment.
In December 2012 1st Sergeant Anderson attached to 3/2 26 Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). This Tour Covered operations within 5th fleet for a duration of 9 months.
Following the 26th MEU 1st Sergeant Anderson reported to Marine Corps shooting team, Quantico, Virginia in March (2011). 1st Sergeant Anderson was assigned as an Instructor Competitor to the Pistol Team. (2014) 1st Sergeant Anderson competed in an international competition in the United Kingdom against the top shooters from five nations. 1st Sergeant Anderson won the individual match as the high shooter for both Rifle and Pistol and contributed to the first American Team win of the Commanders cup in 30 years. (2014) 1st Sergeant Anderson graduated Martial Arts Instructor Trainer Course. (2015) 1st Sergeant Anderson Graduated Combat Marksman Trainer Course. (2016) 1st Sergeant Anderson graduated Marine Corps Instructor of Water Survival and Force Fitness Instructor School.
In May (2018) 1st Sergeant Anderson Sergeant reported to 2nd Amphibious Assault Battalion. where he was assigned as a Section Leader for Alpha Company. 1st Sergeant Anderson was attached to 2/6 for the 26th MEU. Upon return from the MEU 1st Sergeant Anderson assumed the Role Assistant Operations Chief for 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion.
In 2021 1st Sergeant Anderson Reported to Marine Combat Instructor School (MCIS). 1st Sergeant Anderson was assigned as the Platoon Commander for Golf Company. In January 2023 1st Sergeant Anderson assumed the role as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Hotel Company. Also, during this time attended Maneuver Warfare School in Norfolk, Va.
In October 2024 1st Sergeant Anderson reported to 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, Tampa, Florida as the Delta Company Operations Chief. 1st Sergeant Anderson was selected for Individual Augment to Marine Forces South to serve as Watch Chief in support of Operation Southern Spear.
1st Sergeant Anderson is currently serving as Battalion Sergeant Major for 4th Amphibious Assault Battalion Tampa, Florida.
1st Sergeant Anderson's personal awards include the (2) Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medals, and (3) Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
