Major Nicholas C. Sutton
Inspector-Instructor
Company G, 2nd Bn., 25th Marines

Major Sutton was commissioned in 2014. After graduation from The Basic School, Infantry Officer Course, and Light Armored Reconnaissance Leaders Course, he reported to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion at Camp Pendleton, California in May 2016. After seven months as a Platoon Commander with Company C, Major Sutton volunteered to serve as an Advisor Team Leader with the Georgia Liaison Team, Rotation 6. As an Advisor Team Leader, Major Sutton deployed to the Republic of Georgia to embed and train with a Georgian Infantry Company, and then to Parwan Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Resolute Support. In May 2018, Major Sutton returned to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and served as Assistant Operations Officer until June 2019. 
 
In July of 2019, Major Sutton reported to Task Force 51/5 in Bahrain to serve as a Watch Officer. In January 2020, Major Sutton was assigned to the Security Cooperation Team-Jordan where he served as Camp Titin Officer in Charge and Advisor Team Leader for the 77th Royal Jordanian Marine Battalion in Aqaba, Jordan. Upon return to Task Force 51/5 in May 2020, Major Sutton served as Senior Watch Officer until July 2020. Following this tour, he attended the U.S Army's Maneuver Captains Career Course at Fort Benning, Georgia. 
 
In February 2021, Major Sutton reported to 1st Battalion, 7th Marines where he has served as Company Commander for Headquarters and Service Company, Company C, and Weapons Company in support of deployments to Australia as a part of Marine Rotational Force-Darwin and Okinawa, Japan as a part of the Unit Deployment Program. After returning from deployment Major Sutton received orders as site support for Golf Company, 2d Battalion, 25th Marines to serve as the Inspector-Instructor, and is currently serving in this position. 
 
Major Sutton personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold stars, a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and, the Combat Action Ribbon.
