Colonel Randall K. Jones
Commanding Officer
Combat Logistics Regiment 4

Upon graduation from Averett College (Danville, VA) with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Pre-law, Col Jones enlisted in the Marine Corps in September 1997. After graduating from recruit training at Parris Island, he was selected to attend Officer Candidate School. Following his commissioning in April 1998, Col Jones attended The Basic School and Logistics Officer's Course.
 
Col Jones' operational assignments include Commanding Officer, Combat Logistics Battalion 2 from June 2015 to June 2017; Logistics Officer, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit from June 2007 to June 2011; Current Operations Officer, 2nd Transportation Support Battalion from May 2002 to September 2003; Executive Officer, Combat Service Support Detachment-28; Officer-in-Charge, Air Contingency MAGTF and MEU Service Support Group-24 Transportation Support Detachments; Company Executive Officer, Platoon Commander, 8th Motor Transport Battalion from January 1999 to April 2002.
 
He deployed with the Logistics Combat Element for Special-Purpose MAGTF Crisis Response Africa 16.1/16.2 and supported Operations OAKEN STEEL and ODYSSEY LIGHTENING. He has conducted two MEU deployments to the Mediterranean, Arabian Gulf, Middle East and African continent in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, ODYSSEY DAWN and UNIFIED PROTECTOR. Additionally, he served in combat with Task Force Pegasus during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and deployed with Special-Purpose MAGTF Vieques in support of Operation EASTERN ACCESS.
 
Col Jones' joint and supporting establishment assignments include Assistant Chief of Staff, G-3/5, Operations and Plans, Marine Corps Logistics Command from August 2020 to June 2022. Global Force Management Branch Chief, Forces Division, Joint Staff, J-8 from June 2018 to July 2020.
Senior Forum Program Coordination, Programs and Resources, Headquarters Marine Corps from August 2014 to June 2015; Deputy Military Assistant; 32nd and 33rd Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps from June 2012 to August 2014; Commanding Officer, Company F, Marine Combat Training Battalion from October 2003 to May 2005. He also served as the Logistics Officer, School of Infantry - East from June 2005 to June 2006 until selection for career-level school.
 
Col Jones is a graduate of the Expeditionary Warfare School, the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and the Marine Corps War College.
