First Sergeant Hautumn S. VanGeison
Unit Senior Enlisted Leader
November Battery, 5th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment

First Sergeant Hautumn VanGeison is a native of Lewiston, ME.  She enlisted in the Marine Corps in August of 2005, attended recruit training at Marine Corp Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC.  She was selected as a Squad Leader and served this position the entirety of boot camp and graduated in November of 2005 as a Private First Class.  She then attended her Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) School in Camp Johnson, NC, where she received her primary MOS of 3043, Supply Administration, in February 2006. 
 
Private First Class VanGeison reported to 1st Supply Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 15, Camp Pendleton, CA, where she was assigned as a Fiscal Clerk.  She was promoted to Lance Corporal in July 2006.
 
November 2006, Lance Corporal VanGeison reported to Combat Logistics Regiment 17, Combat Logistics Battalion 11 Supply where she worked as a DASF Clerk and conducted training in support of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit.  She deployed with the 11th MEU in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2007 and 2009 and was promoted to Sergeant between deployments in May 2009.  Sergeant VanGeison served as Fiscal Chief during her second tour with the 11th MEU.
 
May 2010, Sergeant VanGeison transferred to Recruiting Station Detroit and served as a Logistics Clerk, responsible for managing all events, government vehicles and all fiscal requirements.  She then decided to drop to the Individual Ready Reserve to focus on her education and family.  
 
Sergeant VanGeison was promoted to Staff Sergeant in April 2014 while in the IRR.  During her time in the IRR, Staff Sergeant VanGeison completed her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling in 2016.  It was then that she joined Marine Forces Reserve, where she reported to 3rd Civil Affairs Group as the Supply Chief.
 
February 2017, Staff Sergeant VanGeison transferred to Reserve Support Platoon 2, Marine Forces Reserve, where she served as a Contact and Screening Specialist. 
 
October 2021, Staff Sergeant VanGeison transferred to  Mobilization Operational Support Team, Marine Forces Reserve, where she served as a Administrative Specialist and Information Technology Coordinator.  When she was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in April 2022, she took over as Training Chief. 

In October 2024 Gunnery Sergeant VanGeison was invited to join Marine Innovation Unit after an extensive selection process.  She served as a Talent Management and Acquisition Specialist with Talent Management Organization within MIU until her selection to First Sergeant in August 2025.

First Sergeant VanGeison was frocked to her current rank and assigned as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to 5th Battalion 14th Marines November Battery. 

First Sergeant VanGeison’s personal awards include a Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Gold Star in lieu of second award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Unit Commendation and Humanitarian Service Medal.
