Lieutenant Colonel Brian Blaine
3rd Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment

LtCol Brian Blaine is a native of Cleveland, Mississippi and he enlisted in the Marine Corps in March 1996.  As an enlisted Marine he served at 9th Engineer Support Battalion, Marine Wing Support Squadron 272 and 3d Battalion, 24th Marines. He commissioned in March of 2004 through the Officer Candidate Course and then attended The Basic School and the Infantry Officer Course in Quantico, Virginia.
In December of 2005, LtCol Blaine reported to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During this tour he served as a Weapons Platoon Commander, 81mm Mortar Platoon Commander and as the Weapons Company Executive Officer.  In June of 2006, he embarked aboard the USS Iwo Jima and deployed with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit where he participated in a Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation of the United States Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon.  In September of 2007, he deployed to Ramadi, Iraq for combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In June of 2008, LtCol Blaine was transferred to Recruiting Station Indianapolis where he served as an Officer Selection Officer. In July of 2010, he was selected to attend the Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS) in Quantico, Virginia.
In May of 2011, LtCol Blaine reported to 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii where he was assigned as Company Commander, Company K.  In October of 2011, he deployed the company to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Upon redeployment in May of 2012, LtCol Blaine was assigned as the Weapons Company Commander where he served until June of 2013 when he was selected to serve as the Company Grade Infantry Monitor at Headquarters Marine Corps, Quantico, Virginia.
From August of 2014 to April of 2015, LtCol Blaine deployed to Baghdad, Iraq where he served as the Future Operations Officer for the Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command Iraq.
LtCol Blaine served as the Commanding Officer for Marine Corps Recruiting Station Iowa from June of 2015 to June of 2018 when he moved to Quantico Virginia to attend the Command and Staff College. Upon graduating from Command and Staff College, LtCol Blaine reported to 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California where he served as the Battalion Executive Officer from June of 2019 to June of 2020.  During this period, the battalion deployed to the Middle East as the Central Command Crisis Response Force.  
From June of 2020 to May of 2021, LtCol Blaine served as the Regimental Operations Officer for 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.
His personal decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with two Gold Stars, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two Gold Stars, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one Gold Star.  In 2001, LtCol Blaine earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Logan University in Chesterfield, Missouri.  In 2019, he earned a Master’s Degree in Military Studies where he graduated with distinction from Marine Corps University.
